- born in Pennsylvania, have lived in Virginia since 1979. into crafting - needlecrafts, beadwork, photography, some woodworking.
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- have one labradoodle - 11 month old male, mostly white with a little cream coming in the older he gets - his name is Wakefield. he's about 50 pounds right now - tall and long legged, but slim, muscular bodied. probably won't get much bigger. Already has his STAR puppy training and basic obedience certificate. as soon as he's a year old will be testing him for therapy dog work thru local club - Clever Canines. also have a 7 year old mix, - I know he's part beagle, part lab - named Cheagle, adopted from shelter.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Shelter
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- wasn't looking for a doodle specifically - was looking for a companion for my smaller dog, Cheagle, a few months after my Chesapeake Bay Retriever - Teague - passed away because he was so lonely. My vet recommended I look at a litter of puppies - she was having the mother fostered and the puppies would have to go into a shelter if they weren't adopted. He picked me by climbing up on my leg when I was down on my knees playing with all the puppies. Then he licked me on the nose when I picked him up to take a closer look - so what else could I do but take him home?
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- obedience training and working on gettng him ready for his CGC and Therapy dog certirfication as soon as he's old enough. playing fetch - in the yard with balls and rubber toys, and in the house with stuffed ones - cuddling on the bed watching tv before going to sleep.
