Hi Jonathan, I'm in Medford but I seriously considered getting a doodle from this breeder: http://oregonlabradoodles.com/ when I was looking for Tara. She seems to be very ethical and diligent in her breeding program. She was located in Vancouver WA when I was looking 5 years ago but I think she may be back in the Portland area now. Good luck!
We just want to wish you a very Happy Birthday!

Hi Jonathan,
Good to have you as a friend :) Thank you
Good for you for finding a class you feel comfortable with. I wish you the best!
Thanks for the friend request. I see that Adina recommended Kali as a trainer. She is awesome - I have only met her cyberly and only wish I lived near her. We trained our dogs - Ned and Clancy using the method Kali uses and Kali helped us through Adina with some specific questions we had between classes. This kind of training really gives the dog confidence - and you confidence in your dog too.
Didn't mean to jump into another post on your wall, but Adina helped us find the same method of training in our area. It is 10 weeks of hard, hard work and soooooo worth it.
Jonathan, if you are at all interested in turning your labradoodle into a trusting and trustworthy dog on and off leash I recommend the following Portland trainer: http://www.civisdogtraining.com/Civis_Dog_Training/Welcome.html -- I would go to her before any behaviorist or trainer. I have driven to work with Kali all the way from my town of Walla Walla. She's excellent. But she doesn't necessarily focus on spot fixing. She will help you train Joey to be confident and trustworthy and trusting of you. With her help you would be able to walk Joey in heel position near blow dryers, scary sounds, etc. You would be able to keep her in a sit stay or down stay near those things and more with her training. I can't recommend her highly enough. But what she does takes a bit of time and commitment!
Johnathan, I saw your message to all Australian Labradoodle owners. We can't respond to a group message. What you need to do is start a discussion on the main page so that you can get lots of advice. You can also go to Discussions and type in shy or something like that and previous discussions will pop up and you can read them to get some ideas. My dogs are not shy, but when they balk at something, I gently introduce it to them. Perhaps when you submit your discussion you can give more details.
Black is beautiful, huh? :)
