The Pest Control guy came this morning so we had an opportunity to see how our Doorbell Etiquette training was coming along. He actually rang the doorbell on 3 separate occasions and we had success with each one. This video unfortunately doesn't start with the doorbell ringing and them getting on their pillows, but it shows how they were while the Pest Control guy was in our house talking with DH at the end of the treatment. I have to say, I was one proud Momma. The Pest Control guy was pretty impressed as well, because as he said, "I've been here before, so I can see the progress". They stayed on their pillows with no barking the entire time until I gave them the release command after he left. Then we had a big party with a yummy treat!

Wow, someone dug this out of the archieves. As you can see this is from March of 2012. We had been working with a private trainer and one of our issues was the doorbell response. We worked really hard with ringing the bell, sending them to the pillows in a down stay and then making them stay until we released them. It took many practice sessions, but then if we didn't have any company for a few weeks we had to practice again. Then Lucy had her CCL surgery followed by Sophie's situation and we got off the training path. Now that it is just Lucy and the new puppy we really need to start working on this really hard again because it is Monkey see Monkey do around here and AnnaBelle is going to be out of control if we don't get on this! So, thanks for bringing this back to my attention and now I know I can do it again!
