Diane, the crate is in the nook area near the back patio sliding door. The family room is gated off from the nook and kitchen area because our 23yr old cat needs her private domain, otherwise we wouldn't have a gate there. The cat has the FR, hall, powder rm (for her litter box and food dishes, and the study. We also have the formal living and dining room gated off since we rarely use those rooms and Lucy doesn't need to be in there anyway. Lucy is out most of the time unless I have chores to do around the house, then she goes into her crate... usually during a nap time. She sleeps well in the crate. She's like velcro to me when she's awake and when I'm working in the kitchen she's constantly moving so she can lay on my feet (which are also constantly moving). She's so funny :-)
I could just melt watching this video. My labs always liked stuffed animals w/ eyes in them. I'm going to get a smaller one for Sheila. They are adorable together. I wonder if she will get bolder and take the eyes out--like my reprobates did! Is the crate like in the kitchen and is the kitchen blocked off? Is she out most of the time?
