Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

So, as some of you may know I was supposed to get a puppy in 2 weeks, well unfortunately after the temperament testing went through, I was no matched with one, and now I am a little heartbroken...ok I'm really heartbroken, I'm pretty much was devastated. Anyway, my boyfriend and I just graduated college and are getting ready to start grad school in the fall, and were moving out of our place now. Due to this we are taking our dog and leaving her best friend (our roommate's dog) behind. Since we have the time now, we thought right now would be there perfect opportunity to have a puppy because by August he should be old enough to rome the house with our other goldendoodle. So after this long story, I am posting this for any breeders who have puppies available now. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of money, I just gave up a deposit, and Christmas definitely brought me down, so if your puppies are over $1500, then I really can't afford that... But please contact me if you do, I am completely heartbroken after getting my hopes up and getting ready for this new puppy only to find out... I will no longer be getting him :(

I wonder why if you were not matched with a puppy you can't get your deposit back? Have you looked at the goldendoodle puppies group http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/goldendoodlepuppiesforsale, rescues, and recommended breeders?
Ya I looked, they're either all sold, or all out of my price range :( but no the breeder is giving me my deposit back sorry I meant I just put a deposit down on a house.
I know it sounds stupid, I'm just really upset about losing that puppy. You know when youre heart is set on something for so long, and then you find out youre not getting it? It feels like its been ripped in two. Its awful too because I found out yesterday morning, and I left for Kauai yesterday afternoon, and I just cried the wholeeee day. Its ruined my trip. And the thing is, the breeder was a really nice person, and was helping me out because she knew of my financial crisis at the moment, so she offered me one at a good price. So now that I'm not getting one from her, I dont know how I'll find another breeder who would be willing to do the same thing.
Amanda, I am so sorry. You may have trouble finding a good pup as a "leftover" from a breeder. Good luck though.
I know, Im starting to figure that... I think I may have to just give up at this point
Ya well the problem is its my boyfriends dog... We have a female right now who has attached herself to me, and so now he wants one to attach himself to him. We are, however, extremely active people, and really dont do well with lethargic/timid dogs. We also look for a more solid build in a goldendoodle rather than the poodle build. So when it came down to matching time, I had my heart set on 2 males, both fitting my description perfectly. The other 2 males did not at all. Well there were 2 people in line before me...and of course they took both males. So I was left to choose from a timid male or a semi active poodle-build male. I know its hard to be picky, especially with my financial situation, but I just think when you pay $1000+ for a dog, you should get exactly what you want.
We got Leo through Rainbows End, near Fresno, CA. They have a litter due on Jan 11, and I see that Annabelle, who is Leo's mom has a litter due on Feb. 9. http://www.rainbowsendpuppies.com/47864.html

Check them out - they are within your price range....
Hi - we got Teddy from whisperingkennel.com - they are terrific goldendoodles and reasonably priced.
Hi Amanda. It seems like you know exactly what you want in a puppy ~ both personality wise and physically. Perhaps you shouldn't limit yourself to only one breed of a doodle. There are many different types of doodles on DK. Read thru' some postings. forums, blogs, etc. Do your research. Search the internet. There are many breeders even here on DK that can help you. Our dog is only 38 pounds and is EXTREMELY active and agile. She's an aussiedoodle. My point is NOT for you to look for an doodle, but to examine all types. Just because some are smaller in stature, doesn't mean they are not athletic, etc. Also, at times breeders have puppies available for a reduced rate - either b/c they are the last to go, or even have been brought back to the breeder b/c it was too rambunctious for their family desires. either way - Good luck. The "puppy gods" have a way of perfectly matching owners with puppies... even if you have to be disappointed at first!
haha actually youd be surprised Ive been researching for a good year. Its my boyfriend that is the picky one. He has this obsession with golden retrievers so the dog MUST look like a golden retriever. Broad head, big build, golden/cream in color...you get my point.... I mean little tweeks here and there are ok, but a breeder offered us a beautiful black one for a good price and heaven forbid my boyfriend cannot have a black one. UGH this is soo frustrating
I totally understand! We had a golden retriever before Tori. That was always our LOVE... We initially set out to get a GD, but stumbled on the aussiedoodle. We wanted a golden one, and by shocks of all shocks - wound up with a BLACK AUSSIE doodle. You will find the perfect one!!!
I'm sorry you didn't get your puppy. It is so exciting to anticipate. While I think you should get what you want...because doods vary so much and there is no guarantee with any litter...maybe rethinking your criteria might be helpful. GR body in only light colors with thick frame, male AND high energy is a lot of factors that need to come together at just the right time. As far as 'build' ...with all the doodle hair even a poodle body can look thick and will likely be very agile!
