I know all of our doodles are PERFECT!! But, I made a resolution to improve Parris' jumping up when greeting!!! She is so very obedient but when someone walks in our home, it is like springs come out of her paws and the jumping begins. It has been 2 weeks with a VERY small improvement. I want to hear your resolutions.
When you figure that one out....let us all know. Winter is so tough. Guinness gets plenty of exercise on his one day a week at Daycare, but the rest of the time it's just walks and fetch inside. Not nearly enough in my opinion, but I just don't have a good answer.
I breed hunting labradors with dilute coats of silver, charcoal, white and red. I also started a Labradoodle line. My resolution this year is to work with my daughter's boyfriend, an upland hunter, on training my beautiful, brown Labradoodle Cecilia to hunt. I'm not a gun person, but I appreciate the inteligence of my Lab lines. I want to see over generations the derivative effect of having a Doodle line that can hunt with Dad. After all, BOTH POODLES AND lABS ARE HUNTERS.
I've decided to feed Oliver only very healthy food at all times. That means food and treats without wheat, corn soy, chemicals, coloring or products sourced from anywhere other than the US. The only human food will be healthy fruits and veggies that are low in sugar. So far, he appears to be delighted with his menu selections !
I need to stop Yankee & Finn from resource guarding at the dog park. If they find a stick or ball and another dog approaches, they snap at it. Finn learned this from Yankee but he will go after any dog...once a bull mastiff. He is looking for trouble.
My resolution is to try to teach my doodle to walk on a leash without pulling. Any suggestions??? I am desperate. It is their only fault and I don't know what to do. Please help!!!!!
I still need work in this area as well. I think the pinch collar works well for our regular walks. When I am on a regular collar, I walk backwards when she pulls.
My arm used to be so tired when we would get back from a walk. Then our trainer suggested a pinch collar. I was totally against it, but I tried it anyway. Darbey is like another dog with the pinch collar on. It is amazing! If you do get one, make sure it is fitted properly.
