Tipping a groomer

I am getting Max groomed for the first time this week. He is our first dog so I don't have any experience with groomers. Do people generally tip groomers.

Oops, I never thought of this. I just got Beckett groomed on Thurday. Now I feel bad. Next time I'll either tip or I like the idea of getting a gift or treats once in awhile.

The last time I had Quincy groomed it cost me $175 and yes I did tip. He wasn't matted so that did not explain the outrageous price. All I can say is that I'm in the wrong profession. I am going to try and find someone to teach me how to groom him. He needs to be done every 8 weeks or so and $175 is a little too pricey for me.

Wow, I only pay $50.00 to get Samson groomed. She is a very good friend but I told her I want to pay whatever price it is. She does an excellent job! Samson is eight months and about 65-70 pounds.

Wow, Beckett is a mini but I only paid $69.00. Think I'd learn to do it myself if I had to pay that much.. lol

This would be pricey enough, that Ned would be kept short, short, short and I would be doing it myself with clippers! I pay 35 dollars for a complete groom. Ned is a smaller dog, but he has lots of mats and tangles that need combing out.

I tip 18%. With 2 doodles, I can't quite do 20%.

I do tip our groomer. She does a great job and I am sure she appreciates the exta money.

Yes, I tip. Her groomer is wonderful and Charlie loves her. I round off the cost/fee, which is a little over $60 and pay her $70.00. I also give her occasional / seasonal small gift.

I always tip,they are perfoming a service.Since Im a hairstylist and depend on my tips ,I feel its the same!Plus its a lot of work.And believe me she will remember the next time!
