Hi East Coast Doodler's,

How are all of you doing with all the snow? Hopefully you are safe and warm, and with electricity.  Let us know...

No fun at all!!! We were getting nervous about possibly losing our extra day at Memorial Day break...WOW 15!? What a beauty Butter is!!!
So did most of you have to stay home from work because the roads were closed due to snow? I'm glad to hear that everyone is OK. Love to see some photo's of all that snow. The doodles in the pictures that I've seen, seem to enjoy every minute.
Hi Heidi! I do have pictures of our snowfall before this one, on my page. That was a big one 27 inches. We haven't had snow like that in years, but it fell on a Saturday- sunday, so school was only closed for 1 day. We braced and got ready for the past weekend storm that hit the southern east coast, but it blew right by with NOTHING - a bit disappointing.....This time it was only 13 inches, but school was closed for 2 days because of the timing of it. Even my husband (who is not a teacher like myself) stayed home the first day. I'll have to post some nature shots - it was just beautiful!!!
In southern Ohio we are doing good. We ended up with approximately 1 foot of snow. I'm not sure how those of you with several feet are managing. My girls are so confused with the snow and figuring out how to potty in it. I shoveled paths to all their favorite spots. They will walk down the paths, but will not potty in the shoveled areas. Seem to think they have to go out in the deep stuff. Then they end up hopping like bunnies. It is the worst in the mornings when it is all frozen and crusty on top and makes a noise when their feet break through. But we aren't complaining because I can't even imagine several feet like some have!
LiliBear and I have enjoyed spending many days together. She has loved playing in the snow. Unfortunately, her coat continued to mat up and only get much worse with wet snow. She ended up with a crew cut from the groomer. Poor pup. She has enjoyed helping to dig out. We have had an unreal amount of snow. She did meet and play with a new friend in the neighborhood and another doodle also came out and joined them.

For those snowballs that get stuck, with her shorter coat I have used the back side of the shedding blade/ sweat scrapper smooth side to rake some of the balls off.

These were from the first of the two big storms this Feb. (Owings Mills MD)
Beautiful pictures, they all look so happy out there.
We got slammed with snow here in MD. The first storm started on a Friday and we got over 26 inches and than we got another 20 inches Tuesday into Wednesday. I think that we'll have snow here until July, the same time that the school year is going to be extended! I work at an elementary school and we got off early on Friday and won't be going back until Tuesday because of the snow and the holiday. The good thing is that it gave me lots of time with Rowdy and he absolutely loves the snow! He could play outside for hours.

This is our back door on our deck. So glad it wasn't like this at the front door!

This is during the first storm. It's a trashcan that someone left out on the sidewalk. That shows you how much snow we got!

Rowdy playing in the snow.

I love Rowdy in the snow, he's so cute. I can't believe the snow level at your backdoor. Where do you even start to dig out?
Shoveling was definitely not fun. We ran out of places to put all the snow. We live in a townhouse community so our tiny front yard is packed with about a 5 foot pile of snow! We have been having a great time playing with Rowdy in it though!
Lindsey - I am a teacher too, but we have a February break from 2/15-2/21. Do you have that break too? Are they really extending your school year??? OH NO!!! Pray for NO more snow!!! Your pictures are unbelievable. We only got about 13 inches this last storm. The one on the weekend just blew south of us.
We have an extra long break around Easter this year. I think they're going to take one of those days and make us come in. We've used all of our snow days and 5 extras so we'll have to wait and see what they decide to do. There's a chance that we might get a few days back because we were in a state of emergency. We're supposed to be getting some more snow on Monday but they haven't said how much yet.
