Is it wrong to make my boy dogs wear pink?  Sometimes I wish they were girls so I could get them cute collars and accessories.  Everyone thinks they are girls anyway, even AFTER I say their names (which clearly are neither female names nor unisex names).

LOL!!! I'm glad you said it....I didn't want to be the first to point out the obvious!
So I have a girl but her name is Hunter - she ALWAYS has her pink leash, collar and bandana and people almost always call her a "he"! I know she has a boys name - but my husband named her and it was an easy trade off considering that was the only thing he asked of me while I had "doodle puppy on the brain" 24/7 before we got her! LOL
I put a collar on Taquito once that was baby blue with pink fish. DH almost died. People called him a girl. I decided enough with that. He does wear purple! I have a houndstooth purple and black sweater that is pretty masculine in my opinion, but it is pretty still :)

I am the only one of my friends who HATES going all blue for human baby boys and all pink for human baby girls. I like greens and yellows (with a few of those gender specific colors mixed in)....I am kinda the same for my dogs. Peri has a bright blue harness even.

And by the way, Peri wears a green and pink collar and EVERYONE thinks she is a HE.
My DH is not a fan of pink on boy dogs either...

I agree too that yellows and greens don't get enough attention! They are such beautiful colors! I don't like all blues or all pinks either Ally!
Form Wikipedia:

In Western culture, the practice of assigning pink to an individual gender began in the 1920s.[5] From then until the 1940s, pink was considered appropriate for boys because being related to red it was the more masculine and decided color, while blue was considered appropriate for girls because it was the more delicate and dainty color, or related to the Virgin Mary.[6][7][8] Since the 1940s, the societal norm was inverted; pink became considered appropriate for girls and blue appropriate for boys, a practice that has continued into the 21st century.

So I guess pink is fine for guys.
My DH wears pink sometimes.....
Now I am questioning why he has a problem with Taquito's blue and pink collar. Interesting....
Callie wears a blue argyle collar with white enamled bones on it. Sometimes people ask if she's a boy, but I don't really care. I love that collar so much! If I had to wear a collar, I would absoultely want to wear this one! I have a green and white gingham one in reserve as her next collar.
I don't think I would wear pink on a boy, but just about any other color would be ok.. but to each his own =)
Cooper wears pink for two occasions (he has a special pink collar) and those are Valentines Day and Race for the Cure Day! He also wore it an extra time this year for Snowshoe for the Cure. I figure on these days, it's ok for him to be a little pink! ;)
I think pink is right for anyone the only in my family who would object would be my husband LOL
I think pink and bows in the hair should be left for the girls. Tucker came out of the groomers with a "blue " bow in his hair and I had to laugh. I immediately took it out when we got home. Although others are right- men do wear pink shirts. It's all a matter of personal taste.
I think I could give Halas a tattoo that says, "I'm a boy," and people would still think he's a girl. Wearing pink probably wouldn't make much of a difference. But I happen to not like pink, so even if he was a girl, I still wouldn't let him wear it.
