Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello DK, our new Website is still underconstruction, however we have added a new Doodle In Need to existing pages. TheDoodleMessenger.webs.com pages. Buddy's story and donation information is available there. I believe you can click on the DK Extra Board where Adina located the Messenger and it will take you there. The information of both the submitter of the Doodle, and the owners are not provided for privacy issues, but I am fairly comfortable to say congratulations to a long-time DK member for submitting Buddy to the Founder Board...Buddy will need lots of friends to provide both any amount you might be able to send to his Veterinarian to offset the family's expenses, and any emotional support to them on the Guestbook page.
The construction of the new Website has been held up by illness of one of our critical agents who puts information, or migrates information from our existing site, to the new one. So, what you won't additionally see right now are lots of information and resources that will soon be available there.
One change will be Guestbooks under each Doodle rather than one guestbook for all of the Doodles.
Also scheduled are two monthly columns, one by Dr. Alice Villalobos, a DVM, MS who is a nationally known researcher and writer on the Canine and Human Bond, especially in aging dogs, but also with dogs who develop such conditions as cancer. Dr. Villalobos has developed information about what she terms, Pawspice...the home health care of our very sick, perhaps dying, dogs. Dr.Alice is a practicing Veterinarian with an Oncology specialty, a researcher, a prolific writer, and a Professor of Veterinarian Oncology. Shee is the new President of the American Society for Veterinarian Medical Ethics. Another monthly column by Helene Roussi, a Breeder specializing in Doodle genetics, her column is called, Lets Talk Doodle! Her first column is about Hybrid Vigor among Doods.
Other pages...all completed and awating movement into the new Website (same name) are Paws In the Garden...thoughts, poetry, sayings about dogs, Resources page, a Memorial page where any Doodle owner may submit his or her late Doodle with the Doods name, birth and death date, and any specific feelings or thoughts or a story they want to say about their friend - a space where all Doods at the Bridge can be remembered, another page with "samples" of types and kinds of Doodles, their sizes, coats, colors....
We know that many of the owners of our Doodles In Need have friends and family who also visit the Messenger pages, we are working so hard to make the visit a worthwhile journey for all!
For now, please look at Buddy's story, and Libby's and Sully's if you haven't visited. All three are there for all of us who love and care for Doodles and their owners at this difficult time. We do have one vacant Board (voting) Member opening. Please read the "requirements" for that opening and forward an e-mail if you are interested. The Breeder position has been filled. Our "substitute" techie helping us with the current Website might not have added the middle two sentences of this paragraph yet! Bear with us. We are all volunteers.
Thanks for being such an important part of The Doodle Messenger. And, don't forget to submit either on your own behalf, or for a friend, A Doodle In Need.
Fondly, Dr. Judith LaVorgna for the Founder Board ....
AND PLEASE, feel free to crosspost this to any forum, Doodle group, Breeder site, or organization which might not know about the location site for information about our "kids" We
need everyone everywhere to help get the word out. Our new Website will, we hope, have a banner announcing new Doodles In Need...for now we need to crawl along the Internet with your help.
