I can walk Peri for 3+ miles and she will still come home and want to play with Taquito (he is exhausted by that walk!), run around, etc...

It is like she gets more energy from it.  Maybe thats a puppy thing...but she is almost a year now!

One time she even got the zoomies!

Yesterday we did a 2 miler, but stopped at the creek.  That made her a crazy dood.  We returned home where she was active for 3 hours and then completely collapsed.  We heard a "THUD" around 9pm and she was down for the count =)

My old man doesn't...he does the THUD as soon as he gets home and has a drink of water. But he's well past five years old.
Darwin must be an old man at heart. After a walk, he thumps down in a corner and sleeps for a few hours.
Maybe one day Peri will slow down!!! It cracks me up though...you can tell she is tired, but she just keeps on going. I swear, the energy she has is crazy. Daycare owner asked me the other week "does Peri ever slow down". I just laughed. He did say she has started taking breaks in her "older" age. Ha!
Maybe the smaller doodles are more active than the bigger ones. That's common in poodles. But they all usually get calmer after 3 years old.
Tyson is almost 2 and he is like this! After a 3 mile walk, he seems to have this burst of energy he needs to expend--and he runs around in these crazy circles (is this similar to your "zoomies"?). He looks totally deranged when he does this, goodness knows what people think when they see him doing it.

Also, if we get to water an any point during a walk, he NEEDS to go in it, and that makes him instantly go crazy, and run his crazy circles around us.
That's the zoomies. Running in circles, looking like they have gone completely mad! It is hilarious!
oh my goodness, that is the funniest thing. I am glad my dodole isn't the only one that does this. And I like your name for it! we usually just refer to it as Tyson going crazy. He does a similar version in the house once in a while, although that involves crazy running, with less circles. I always wonder what people think when they see Tyson doing the zoomies while we're walking!
Chevy is just over a year and he will do exactly the same thing. He used to get the zoomies as you call it, but now when we get home he will sprint for one of his toys and wants to chase or tug or is just runs around the house. He usually settles down within minutes. I think its cute.
Alma has made a habit of coming home from our walks and laying on the top step of our pool to cool off. Immediately afterwards she will have tons of energy and zoom around the yard. I think the cool water reinvigorates her. Sometimes I take her to the park across the street and play fetch to get her to calm down. She is just over a year old.
Charlie is opposit.... We do 4 miles each day weather permitted ( It's pouring today ), but she is tired after we get home! She will drink some more water and go to sleep!
What a difference 2 months can make! Every time we walk 2 or 3 miles now, she is exhausted and must take a nap. It's like she hit 1 year and calmed down. Nuts.
