Buck is no longer available for adoption! Why you ask? Because we couldn't stand it any longer and adopted him ourselves! My DH said we just couldn't have another dog - 4 traveling in an RV is just too many he said. Our yard is just too small he said. This is just not the right time he said. I agreed - intellectually. I decided my deadline was Thursday. If no one had adopted him by then, well ..... My real personal deadline was after this weekend, but my DH came home from work and said, Let's go!" So we loaded the dogs and our home-from-college son into the car and took off. Ned and I introduced Buck to my DH, son and our other dogs. Buck appears to have been loved at one time. He was chipped, neutered and socialized. Then... for some reason he was abandoned in a nearby town and put into a kill shelter. When he was put on the list for Euthanasia, the pet adoption center took him in. He has some mats and has hair blocking his eyes and he stinks but he is sweet, doesn't counter surf, isn't aggressive. We are having some jostling for pecking order. He is off to the groomer tomorrow so we will get to see what he really looks like. Really fun news is that he and Ned were born on the same day - March 17, 2008. Now I have two St. Patrick's Day babies. I will post after-the-grooming photos and tell you his new name.
Congrats on the new and adorable addition! I of course don't know your DH, but he's a keeper who really knows what's in your heart. What a happy tail all around!
I am so glad you's found each other, he looks adorable and looks like he will clean up nice =)) Give Ned and him some time , I'm sure they will be great brothers. Congratulations!!! Can't wait for more updates.
Alright Nancy - this post made me LAUGH OUT LOUD. You guys are crazy in a way that I absolutely LOVE. How wonderful for Ned and Buck both - and that they share a birthday is amazing. I hope to meet both of them someday soon!
I was just WAITING FOR YOU TO CAVE. YIPPEE. Oh he is a killer I can tell already!!! I can't wait to see the after photos. I am just over the moon for you. You got a good one w/o the puppy stage. Who knows, I may do the same down the road, the puppy stage is really exhausting. And with the aid of this site, really good dogs come up. Don't tell my breeder I said this. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Now you can join the multiple owners site. Same birthdays, it was meant to be.
