Based on your experience, what are some things that you really should purchase before your new family member arrives? Has anyone had experience with FYFFE's Ridgetop mini Golden Doodles? http://www.fyffesridgetopminigoldendoodles.com/. FYFFE'S RIDGTOP MINI-GOLDEN DOODLES
I live in PA and had difficulty finding a breeder and very hesitantly started looking on the internet at other states. I started with the recommended breeder list http://www.goldendoodles.com/breeders.htm listed by State or there is one here on DK.
I reviewed the web sites 1st to get all the breeder info, emailed questions to get a feel for the breeder support/ answers and then talked on the phone with a choosen few multiple times Got many references and requested some from PA, and a few other states so as to try to not have the breeder choose the reference. I also asked for references of people that have visited the home. When talking with the references, I had a list of questions ready. I finally came down to one breeder. I would suggest using the phone and talking with many people - not just email. That is how I finally felt trusting of the breeder and of the people who were references. These breeders probably thought I was a pain but too bad- if they didn't have the patience then they were off my list. Best if you can at least narrow your choice from a wide range of breeders by phone and checking references and then visit if possible. It's easy to fall in love with any puppy, i.e by just visiting one breeder.
I was so reluctant to purchase this way but it couldn't have turned out better! Tucker had a long flight from Kansas and the whole entire process was very stressful. Taking the time to do all of this is important. You are getting good advice from many people here - take your time. I found quite a few unqualified people in my search.
