Dogs certainly have their own ways of doing things which we just can not understand.
* Moose, my chocolate lab would only go to the back woods and poop in the leaves.
* Pete, chocolate lab/masitiff mix pooped in a straight line along the entire length of the 190 foot property. Strange but the house sits in the middle of this 190 feet. His line in the front perfectly matched the line in the back. Just one lawn mower length to worry about throughout the entire yard.
* Spud for months would only poop in his own yard. We could walk for an hour only to come home to his own back yard. Now, he poops only in the vegetable garden if given the choice. :( He has since been cut off from this bad habit so now he just poops everywhere! Mark it all up. Now I wish he could use the garden :(
*My brother-in-laws golden can not poop anywhere but home. He can no longer travel with her. Last time she went a week!
* Starlit has the most interesting style yet. She poops perfectly on top of old poop. The pile this week was 8 inches high. If I clean up the pile it takes her an hour to find a new spot. I will have to leave her piles--I don't have another hour to wait for her to find the perfect new spot. I can't complain. I don't have to go tip toeing through the yard in search of her piles. They are stacked just like building blocks. A pyramid masterpiece.
I'm glad to hear that Bongo is not the only one with weird habits. He also has his favorite spot, in a line, running along the border between the grass and flower bed. When we are on our sailboat for days at a time he has a 18x18-inch piece of astro turf on the back of the boat. Even though he only has a small patch of "grass", he will circle and circle (sometimes 15-20 times) until he finds just the right spot! Very funny!
Oh yes, the pooping-dancing-circle! Over and Over again. Like praying to the poop god or something?

OMG, this is hilarious! My dog poops anywhere, and twice a day. Sometimes, he only poops once a day, depends on how much he eats. This was funny though!
When we got our first snow storm Quincy was so confused and didn`t know where to go, he finally got used to going in the snow and in the spring when the snow started to disappear he would search out little patches of snow to go on.
Oh how true. I believe this. Funny, when we first got Starlit we had to shovel snow to make a place with grass. We thought she was confused by the snow.
Ned prefers to go at home. He never goes on a walk so when we are camping and can only do potty walks on a leash, it takes him days to find a place he likes and we walk for hours it seems..... THE perfect place is up against a fence or better yet in the corner of a fenced area. Jeez, he just wants some privacy! Gordie the springer leaves a 'trail of poo' He is just so active that he can't stay in one place long enough to poop! Simon is just a regular no-nonsense guy - no odd habits at all. Clancy, our newest guy doesn't seem to care where he goes at all but he must to the poo dance and circle and circle.
