Do your friends and family think you are just a little bit crazy when you call yourself Mom and Dad to your doodle? They are our babies after all. What other option is there?

There is no other option. Timbow absolutely understands that I am mommy and Dan is daddy. If I say 'where's daddy?' or 'what is daddy doing?', he will look directly at Dan or go find him regardless of how many distractions there are, and vice versa. I think our friends are amazed that he can recognize that. -- They do think we're crazy for spoiling him so much though.

**Update...just talked to my mom and she does think we're crazy and that I'm in denial. hahaha. Who cares..he's my baby.

My mother dosen't think I am crazy. In fact she talks to Gavin and refers to herself as Grandma and also says things like "How is my granddog?" She even refered to their dog as Gavin's uncle. For example " Would you like to come to Grandma's house and visit your Uncle Ice?" I guess maybe it's because we don't have any 'real' children. She and my dad are just taking what they can get. lol.

haha. We call my parents shih tzu 'Uncle Mushu', but he doesn't like Timbow so much. My mom does send Timbow cards in the mail though..I think she's in denial too. lol.

That is too funny! My parents and my mother and father in law each refer to themselves as the grandparents to the doodle too! They don't think we're crazy because that would then mean they're crazy. Maybe we are, but who cares. There are no real grandkids yet from any of our siblings either so I imagine they'll stay the granddogs for quite a while. Glad we're not the only ones.

Same here Bruce Girl....Tori definitely knows who mommy, daddy, stephen ans andrew (my sons) are... I can say go wake daddy, daddy's home and where's "the boys" and she knows who's who... my mother in law also refers to herself and my father in law as "Nana" and Poppy to Tori. My MIL also talks to Tori in a 'baby voice' too and worries about her like she's another grandchild...My MOTHER and 2 of my 3 sisters think I'm nuts, but who cares what they think LOL (Here's a secret ~ I wouldn't mention to many people... My DH even uses mommy and daddy too... something I never would have thought I'd hear- SH! - lol)

People DO think I'm crazy. My family are not dog people at all, so they can't understand why we "spoil" Darwin so much. I totally don't care. I'm his mom and that is that! :-)

My dad, who does think I'm crazy, (for many reasons), I think secretly loves the girls (they certainly love him). Anyway, he went to the Amish Harness shop the other day because I had been asking him to make me leashes out of the buttery soft leather that his Mule Harness is made out of. He was explaining to the Amish gentleman what he wanted and although he said he doesn't really do things like this (sewing) any longer he agreed to make them for my dad. My dad explained that they were for his daughter for her dogs, and the man asked what kind of dogs. My dad told him Golden Doodles, and he said the man just sort of shook his head! Anyway, my dad responded with well, they are her KIDS, only ones she has! Guess he understood because within a couple days I had my buttery soft leashes.

We are mom and dad here as well, and we also have Mamaw and Papaw .....

This is an absolutely beautiful picture of Quincy. Yes, we're Mommy and Daddy to the boys. If it's time for them to go out, and I'm busy, I tell them to "go see Daddy". They will go find him and stare until he takes them out. If I say "Daddy's home" they run to the front door. I know the rest of the family thinks we're out of our minds, but they think we're a little fanatical about the Doods anyway.

Oh Yea My family thinks i am crazy but they are Doodles and a very much part of us In fact I send e-mail updates to my family they live in Chicago and I am in Green Bay I tell them what Wilson has been doing and whats going on In fact my son thinks that I am Wilson when I type up those emails How funny is that???!!!!! LOL LOL

I just love my big guy and so does everyone else!!
