Do your friends and family think you are just a little bit crazy when you call yourself Mom and Dad to your doodle? They are our babies after all. What other option is there?
Firstly, what a great picture of Quincy. He's such a handsome boy. Now, no your not crazy. We're the same way with Gus and Lilly. All I have to say is Mummys home and they both race to the front window, paws up and tails wagging. We don't care what anyone thinks.
Love this picture!
I think I have convinced DH we will need a second doodle one of these days... I said something yesterday and he said "Sure, go ahead" hee hee! We have only had Sammy for 2 months and he is only 6 months old... so I am sure I will wait a bit (plus I don't have the money right now to add a second dog... food, vet bills, a second crate possibly...etc.)
But this is totally cute and makes me want TWO really badly!
Sammy seems to know who we are and I think I am referred to as Mommy (though I don't say it much myself but Joe is usually "Joe" but then again our two year old also calls him "Joe" instead of Daddy for whatever reason! It has just been too funny to correct... if he is being silly he will say "Daddy" and giggle and then say "Joe" as if he was just joking around by calling him Daddy.
I love this picture Joe! I am amazed at how clean they are! If my two were white they'd look a total mess!
This picture reminds me of my two when they sneak onto the couch when they hear daddy's car pull into the driveway. He knows I really don't want them on the couch but he toots the horn when he pulls in and he knows the dogs jump on the couch to see him. He does this to irritate me but secretly inside I think it's cute! Shhhh
What a Great picture!! I have to admit we have 2 two legged kids and then their is our 2 spoiled four legged kids. Doodles are just different than other dogs they are in a class all by themselves....
I don't think my friends and family care. The ones that aren't into dogs I just don't mention my dogs to as often. The rest take it as affectionate term of endearment.
My mother says she thinks "I've flipped my wig" over my doodle. This dog has definitely filled a void for us since my mother is in a nursing home and my daughter is 600 miles away at college.
First - that's a really cute picture of Q. He just looks so furry and happy!
We're all a little bonkers about our dogs in my family, so that's good. They do think my obession with the dog park and the fact that I take Callie to day care and arrange play dates for her is weird (and they worry that it's transference because I don't have "real" kids. It probably is, but who cares??) None of them understand the whole fostering thing at all - they do think I'm a loon on that one (they say: "you take care of a dog and give it away? why would you do that? why don't you just write them a nice check" etc etc.. I say "blah blah blah")
What else would we be... "Wilson,,,come to Joyce???!!!" LOL.. of course Mom! My daughter and her husband are Mom & Dad to their corgie and I'm Grammy..they are family after all : )
Very beautiful photo!! Yep, we are Mom and Daddy and my Mom is, of course, Grandma. It was hard for my husband to refer to me as Mom with the dogs. It took him quite a while but he's comfortable with it now.
