I think it is the same thing. It is everywhere here in California! No smell though. Just ornamental and used as fillers in floral arrangements.
See this is why Doodlekisses needs spell check, Statice! They also come in white and pink they are a great flower for dried arrangements. You should try growing some just bring them indoors in the winter.
Beautiful flowers, Diedre! What kind of camera/lens do you use?
Thank you I love your Iris it's beautiful! Canon power shot SX120 IS is the camera/ zoom lens 10 x 15 nice and easy It does a lot but I haven't read the book yet.
This is what my husband and I call Marlow's "jungle path"...he runs in circles behind the plants along the fence and waits for me to find him. I love living in FL with all the flowers and plants!

Bougainvillea blooming....

Your garden is very beautiful especially the bougainvillea, fountain, etc. Thanks for allowing us to us to "visit".
Beautiful garden. I some how thought the final picture would show Marlow peeking out from a bush...ha ha
I'm not fast enough with the camera to catch him (Marlow)! He flys through there!
Wow! You have a gorgeous yard/garden, Susan!

When I first read your post, I thought you said that your husband runs in circles behind the plants along the fence and waits for me to find him. I thought, "huh?" I literally laughed out loud when I realized you were talking about your dog, Marlow. hahaha!
LOL...that would be interesting, wouldn't it?

My mom has a row of these (Black Iris) growing in front of her house (Las Vegas). I might try to do a painting of this one!
