Oh my god! I just weighed and measured Duncan yesterday. He's 25.5 pounds and 17" tall at the withers.
He's really on the cusp of mini and medium. At 14 months old i'm thinking he's probably full grown but how cool that he's beefier and taller than i had anticipated. I secretly wanted a big boy but was afraid to go larger as this was my first pup. So alls well that ends well.
Sally, according to the Australian standards, 17" is medium. Ned is 17" also. I love this height too. Ned weighs a bit more than Duncan at 27 pounds. He reached this height and weight at about 9 months and will be turning 2 this month.
Peri is 16" high and 25 pounds. Is that almost a medium too? I am with you - don't really care because she is an awesome size to me! I am glad she isn't under 20 pounds - DH is also :)
Wow! Our mini Banjo is just 17 weeks and already 22 lbs!!!! Rough estimate on his height, but I'd say he's about 15". I just love the size he is now ... although a bit bigger would be perfect....but something tells me he's going to be a BIG boy!!!! I think he's at the "mini" stage right now.
I would guess that Banjo is going to grow more and become a medium. They gauge it by height more than weight. Our new doodle is 19" tall and 55 pounds! He has a huge head and chest and short stocky legs. Since he is a rescue his heritage is questionable, but I would guess he still is a medium.
I think Banjo will have the stocky legs as well. Funny - my DH and I went back and forth for many months about whether to get a mini or a medium doodle....looks like Banjo will answer that for us! : )
Carol, what is Banjo's size now?? Looks to be bout Jazz's size. She's "short" and "stocky" (bout 16-17") and 38-40 lb. Sometimes I think she's getting overweight, but then I see her come out of the water and think -- do I have a big RAT? hahahaha She's all HAIR.
It isn't easy measuring height....but he's about 18" and is 42 lbs. He is now 9 months. With all that "Fluff" I sometimes think he's overweight too...but like Jazz...when he's wet it's clear he isn't overweight at ALL!
Dropped Ned and Clancy off at the groomer's today. She has a scale so I weighed both of them. Ned still weighs 26.6 pounds (same weight since 8 - 9 months). Clancy was 55 pounds when we rescued him and blossomed up to 62 pounds by August 1st. He now weighs 63 pounds even though we have tried to decrease his calories a bit. We don't actually know what he should weigh because he is so short, but maybe in the low 60's is correct for him. We feed our Springer (52 pounds) the exact same amount as Clancy! Hmmmm maybe Ned who is a midnight grazer is not getting his midnight grazing and Clancy is....... what should I bet on this???
