Places that are "doodle" friendly ~ stores, restaurants, etc...... Let's make a list!

Recently I found out that there are places that you can take your doodle that I never would have expected.  Awhile back we were at Cabela's in West Virginia and they have a boarding/doggie daycare for customers that are shopping.  Just a few weeks ago we were out of town and going to Bass Pro Shops in Toledo, Ohio I really didn't want to leave Hunter in our camper while we were gone but I get nervous leaving her in the car that someone would steal her.  I called Bass Pro and asked if maybe they had the same kennel area like Cabela's and I was shocked that they allowed dogs to shop with you in the store.  WOW  it was a great shopping trip, I wasn't board out of my mind walking around with my husband looking at camping, hunting and whatever else.  I got to walk Hunter around :-)

All of this got me thinking there have to be many more stores and even restaurants that allow dogs to come in.  So how about we make a list of any local or national store, etc.  that allows to bring our doodles in.

I regularly take my doodles, 2 together, to Lowe's and Home Depot in Austin, where they are show stoppers and welcome. I take one at a time into the lobby of my local Bank of America, where they obviously don't see dogs as often but welcome and pet Luna or Riva.
@ Adina - I think so. I usually take Nick when I'm buying moisturizer - or something that doesn't require dressing room. If I'm out and have her with me and see Macy's...it's nice to know I can run in there with her.
The major Orvis Store and the Orvis Outlet in Manchester, VT not only allow dogs to shop with you... they encourage you to bring your pets and often take their pictures for their catalogs. This is truly the best place to be with your doodle - great shopping and great love of animals.
I live in Iowa and Im pretty sure that dogs are allowed in Barnes and Noble....Just last wk I saw a man with his smaller dog sitting in a chair, reading a book. I had no idea till then that dogs were allowed there!! How cool!:)

I know that my Doodle is A LOT more well behaved then most of the childern that I see out shopping!!
I always shop at Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's because they are pet friendly.
Boulder, CO is a very friendly dog town. Most restaurants allow dogs in the outside seating areas and two home stores that allow dogs are, McGuckin Hardware and Ellie's Eco Home Store.
I always ask at the service desk of both Home Depot and Lowes if it is okay to bring my dog in. Generally the response is positive.
I have not read all the posts here, but if anyone lives near Richmond VA, we have a dog friendly mall. It's called Stony Point Fashion Park and is just south of downtown Richmond. The only stores they aren't allowed in are restaurants, MAC make-up, Perle Vision. Occasionally, someone at Victoria's Secret will make a comment on a large dog. Pretty much if your dogs are well behaved, they can go anywhere from Saks, Louis Vuitton and Brooks Bros to Dick's, Dillard's and everything in between.
Hey Deb- Coming from Gloucester on 64 would that be straight through or going left or right when I get to all those turns nearing Richmond.......just moved here not to long ago.
I just called the local Kohl's here in Arizona and the manager was very nice and said SURE. He doesn't have a No Dog Allowed"" sign up and as long as the dog isn't a problem then he didn;'t see why not, he ahs 3 himself. It can get very hot here and leaving Murphy in the car is not an option in a few more weeks.
. New teritory here, but I tend to be a trail-blazer anyway. (Or is it a trouble makes? )
Taking him to Home Depot and then stopping at Kohl's. Just because I can!!!! Love it. Great topic.
Here in Tampa - most of the Home Depots will allow dogs - all pet stores - well all that I have ever found - also

DUBLINDERS Irish Pub in Citurs park devotes the last Sunday of each month to dog owners - (dogs are always allowed on the patio)
Mc Dinton's in South Tampa allows dogs on the Patio
Tia's Tex Mex on Fowler - has a doggy night each month - manager there is WONDERFUL
Smokey Bones - you can have your pet on the patio anytime
GASPARS Grotto - in Ybor City has a dog day as well - I think it is the first Saturday of each month

There are several resturants in Clearwater/St Pete that allow them as well

Our group post a calendar every month for all the dog friendly events - if you are interested send me an email

Most of the chains have been mentioned...locally, In Chapel Hill, NC, you can bring your well-behaved doodle to Townsend and Bertram, outdoor seating at Panzanella & pretty mcuh anywhere that has outdoor seating.
Fair warning: if you ever travel to Boone, NC with your pooch, it is NOT a dog-friendly town! AND Boat rentals will often not allow you to bring your pet - at least in NC - but Ferries to the Outer Banks & other NC islands will!
;-)
I've taken Gromit into one of the Borders Books here in the Bay Area with no problem. Mind you, he's pretty mellow but he's also a 75 pounder, so I decided to ask and they were very welcoming to us :)
