This is Dexter's favorite spot on our couch. Has been "his" spot since the day we got him. He actually likes to lay on top of the couch cushion....its dented and misshapen from him sitting there all the time!!
By the way - I have noticed that many of us doodle owners have leather couches. That definitely made sense to us, and we have leather furniture and auto interiors. I discovered a great cleaning product. It is the Armoral cleaning and conditioning wipes from Costco. You wipe down a section and then condition it. I was amazed at how dirty our couches were. Give it a try. Or let us know what other cleaning products work well for you.
I have been wondering about leather couches lately. My in-laws just got some, and I was worried that if Darwin tried to get on them, his nails would puncture the leather. Has this happened to anyone?
I tried many samples of leather at the Lazy Boy store before I picked out the leather that I wanted. The salesman told me that I could "scratch, puncture, scrape or do whatever I wanted to do" to the sample. So I did. I picked the leather that didn't show the scratches and ordered my sofa and chair from that sample! It has worked out great for us. This is the second dog and so far no punctures and only minor surface scratches that give the couch "character". LOL! Mostly they come off when I condition the leather. Hope this helps with your decision. I do keep my dogs nails trimmed and I think that helps too.
