Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hey my name is Shawn and my pups name is Isabella aka Bella.  Bella is 9wks old she is changing her coat everyday.  I am wondering what her coat will end up being? Her mom is a yellow lab and her dad a standard poodle (cream).  I really wanted her to be wavy or have some spiral curls but how she is looking now is not what I had expected she is almost straight her coat is very soft and about 1/2 long.  If someone could go and look at her pics from 4wks to now and let me know what you think is to be expected.

Thanks,

Shawn

Our pup looked just like yours at 8 weeks and did not start to get his "adult" coat until he was around 8 months or so. Up until then he looked like a sheep dog...very fluffy with puffy straight hair. Now, he has his curls..and lots of them....you can look at his current pictures. Our boy, however, is an F1B goldendoodle, but I still think Bella will get much curlier as she gets older.
thanks for the reply I hope she will be as pretty as your boy. I was afraid after I got her that should have got a fb1 or multigen for the coat I wanted but there are some pic's of the f1 doodles that have beautiful coat....However I love her no matter what she looks like she has such a lil personality and is very smart for age.....If you have any advice for me I would love it.....Happy Memorial Day Weekend..
While it is impossible to tell for sure...the fact that her coat is so poofy and a bit longer (rather than flat or smooth) makes me think her coat will get more 'doodley' with time. I think it will be long but curls may or may not happen...will be fun to see how she unfolds!
yes I think it will be interesting she is changing so much each day. I have a 21yr old daughter and she says she is looking scruffy but cute....lol.......
it is always difficult to predict when they are still that young. But from my experience the longer and straighter the coat is the more wavy and doodly looking the coat will become when growing up. But of course I have no breeder expertise, it is just something I experienced on other puppies I have seen.
