Irises come in many colors. Some have "beards" and some do not. There are Siberian and Japanese irises. They are all beautiful to me although they are a little "formal. Here are some of mine. Please share yours.
Personally, I'm garden challenged. But, I long to have a flower garden someday. It's so nice to be able to enjoy all the beautiful flowers everyone else is growing and learn from the tips I'm seeing here.
Nancie's lens makes me want to toss out the crappy 50mm lens I have and buy one like hers. Having a lens that captures the images the way you want them to makes all the difference in your photography experience. You should go for it, F Parker!
BTW, it's going to be a 109 degrees today. A real scorcher out here in the Southern Nevada desert! Stay cool, everyone!
Linda, I think it was you using a 50 mm lens that made me want to go out and buy one. How is mine better than yours??? I do know that there are many 55 mm lenses but am having trouble really understanding one from the other. I just got an 85 mm AF-S DX Micro Nakkor f/3.5G ED VR lens yesterday!!! Not sure why but I took the Nikon class 7 hours long yesterday and was told this would be a great addition to my collection. I thought maybe it would be redundant with the 50mm but they say no. I am going to work with it all next week while we are in San Jose dog sitting our grandpup Luna. Of course, Gracie Doodle will be with us!!
Now this is getting to be too much. A lens a day practically, really. Well, sigh, let's see what this new lens can do. Also, sometimes I get confused about what group I'm in : )
That's so funny! I don't have 50mm lens. Maybe it was someone's else's photos you saw that inspired you to get this lens. :) I have 28mm that I'm not crazy about, a Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro that I LOVE (takes great closeups plus lovely portraits), and my favorite lens: Canon 70-200 IS (image stabilizer) f/4. (I wish I got the f/2.8 - it was about $800 more.)
