Darwin has been crazy today! I've been stitching like crazy trying to get my little sister's quilt finished by tomorrow, and can't stop! I have a ton left to do and only tonight to do it. Darwin is going a little insane and has had the zoomies for the last few hours. Any fun indoor games that will entertain your pup for a while?
I live in a semi rural area with a large fenced area that 10 squirrels feed in due to the Maple and Oak seeds dropping. As I open the door I rattle it so they scurrey away. Dewey becomes a pinball. He does not know whom to chase first. This will go one most of the day. We are thinking of finding a squirrel obsession group to send him to. However, he is wonderfully tired at night and has little energy for much else.
Lizzy plays with her brother Sam if I'm doing something else-not an option? Well, she has a big tennis ball she throws in the air and catches by herself-and two special squeaky toys.
The 1/2 hour chew is a granola bar-not human, doggie granola
I have given an almost empty peanut butter jar to my doodle and that will keep him busy for a while, or with an old sheel below, give a frozen marrow bone (get them at the grocery store). I hope this helps!
I like to put a few treats in a used box of kleenex or cracker box and tape it up. Abby LOVES to rip it up and get to the treats. Keeps her busy for awhile. However, I do end up having to pick up all the little pieces.
Camilla, I feel your pain. We laid a new floor at the cottage last week and needed to keep Gavin busy and out of the way. It rained off and on and I do not like to keep him teathered outside without regular supervision. Sooo... we played the sit-stay game. First for 5 minutes, then 10, then 15 etc till we reached 1/2 hour. Each success got a treat and praise. I also used the the beef bone and frozen kong treats that others have already suggested. Plus a few walks and fetch breaks.
Just served up an ice/broth/milkbone popsicle this morning and kept Marley busy for 30 minutes!!!! Thanks for all the great tips on here! I'm new to this site and love it!!!
My doodle loves shoes. It's a problem if you don't remember to put your shoes away. But he will chew up a shoe down to the sole and then he carries that sole everywhere. He has several soles of shoes that are "his" and "his" alone.
He is always carrying something in his mouth. Always. He falls asleep with either a shoe sole, a 2-liter bottle, a pudding/yogurt cup, ball, or something in his mouth.
If you're not careful, he'll steal your socks and take them outside, too.
He loves empty containers and plays a lot with them.
I know my reply is late, but I love sharing about my doodle boy.
