this is an email from early this am from Paws to Life:

It looks like we may have found a foster but pls keep looking in case something falls through.  Always good to have a backup! Only issue is there has been kenenl cough outbreak at pound so it would be hard to get him to cross boarder.

Thanks so much for helping!

sounds like he will be okay but just in case, anyone have any luck with a foster home?

Kennel cough - she doesn't say he has it - just that he might due to the outbreak at the shelter. When Mickey came home to me - hard to believe almost a year ago - he had a very, very case of kennel cough! He could barely walk a step without hacking - I treated Samantha prophylactically and she never got sick.  I believe it is so worth it to save a life.

I cannot thank you all for all the support you have shown for a doodle that didn't even have a picture - which I got this morning.  Thought I would share (how could I possibly resist) this gorgeous little boy!

THANK YOU!!  THANK YOU!!!  THANK YOU!!!

You crack me up - I can just see you smuggling the poor pooch across the boarder with a clothes pin clipped to his nose. LOL
A friend of a friend of mine called about the doodle. They were interested in him, but the shelter wants $500 for him and they told her he has kennel cough - boo hoo. They felt the price was a little steep for a rescue so I don't think they are going to take him. Keep asking around guys, someone must want him.
A kill shelter is asking $500??????????????? I'm genuinely shocked. I got Callie from a kill shelter and she was $92.00!
Frannie - you adopted Callie directly from the shelter. The rescue is now responsible for getting him well physically and having him fostered like Mr. B until the perfect doodle home is found.
I'm sure Paws For Life is not a kill shelter. He may have originally been pulled from a kill shelter, but he is with a rescue now.

The actual listing for the dog on Petfinder states he (the poodle, can't find the doodle) will be euthanised by 20th June if a foster/ home is not found. Perhaps they are advertising him on behalf of someone else??
The original listing is now gone, which means the goldendoodle was adopted. The poor poodle is still in danger.
The rescue group posts the dogs who are in danger to try to get some attention & someone to foster them or pull them from the pound, which is where the poodle is and where the goldendoodle was. The pound doesn't list on Petfinder.
From a Paws for Life Crosspost:
URGENT DOG ABOUT TO BE EUTHANIZED AT POUND. VERY FRIENDLY! HAS UNTIL JUNE 20TH. WE ARE NON KILL FOSTER BASED RESCUE TRYING TO SAVE THESE ANIMALS FROM BEING EUTHANIZED BUT CAN ONLY DO SO IF PEOPLE COME FORWARD TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!
THIS is the dog that now needs someone's help:

Thanks Karen for posting. I was up until 3am (sound familiar??) cross posting, writing emails and begging for someone to help. Funny, the poodle was the 1st one in my postings since I didn't get the picture from PtoL until this am. I got home work at 215, fed the girls an early dinner and went to sleep. Just got up and checked emails. How wonderful to see so many DKers checking up on them!!
I will email PtoL now and find out what's going on.
$500 may seem alot to adopt but remember, the rescue is not trying to make a profit! They now have to get each one out of a shelter and vet them. Rescues don't get 'free' vet care - most of the time not even a discout. We all know how much a new puppy costs with all the vaccines and now these guys have to be treated for kennel cough and probably a host of other things that they probably picked up. Personally, I know what it cost to have Mickey treated last summer for kk, mange and a host of infections. Lots more than $500!!!
OMG How could anyone want to put this guy down!
Here's an update. This Doodle was adopted today thanks to Shannon and IDOG. The person drove 12 hours from Nova Scotia to pick this cute Doodle up.
What about the standard poodle?
