I have a question.  One of my friends at work... her border collie has been very sick for the past 4 days... diarrhea and vomiting.  They took him to the vet and he shows no signs of pain when they press on the stomach, and they tested his poop for parasites and that turned up negative.  They gave her a diet to feed him to see if that helps.  The vomit is thicker than yogurt and he is doing this repeatedly.  She is worried that it might be the greenies she has been giving him?  What else could it be?  The vet said give it a few days to see if the diet helps?  What are your thoughts?

Don't know if this will help.

Glad your friend has taken the dog to a vet. I don't know if Greenies are the case, but I know our Penny can't eat ANY kind of greenie (or Dentastix). Makes her sick with vomiting AND diarrhea. But if the dog doesn't feel better soon, better get it back to the vet.
Stool culture, may be bacterial. Xray if vomiting continues
Sounds like a plan.
My dogs, especially our lab-mix, cannot have much in the way of treats - Greenies included. We don't seem to have vomitng, but we do have diarrhea.
Our breeder reported she lost a dog from Greenies, she said never to use them!
Oh man, that's disturbing. Quinn gets his pills in their Pill Pockets twice a day. I wonder if I should stop.
Jack got dozens of Pill Pockets a week for many months back when he was on lots of meds...sometimes as many as 6 a day. Never had a problem.
I wonder if the dog maybe ate something that is causing damage to the digestive tract. It also could be a food allergy. According to my vet, dogs can have the same allergies as people.
