How does your doodle wag their tail?  We have 3 doodles and they all have a different style.  Zeke's tail curls up over his back and when he wags it is in very small wiggles back and forth.  Also his whole back end wiggles back and forth.  Lily wags in large back and forth sweeps.  Jasper has the funniest wag of all.  His little tail gets going like a propeller, first the wind up back and forth getting faster and faster then around it goes.  Very cute, it looks like he could get airborne.

How cute is that!!!!! You are soooo lucky to have 3 doodles!!!!!!!!!! Cagney is what I call the "bum wagger".... first he knocks everything that his tail comes in contact with...doors, walls... whatever... back and forth... he seems to love to make a sound with it... if he can bash it on something he loves that.... then comes the whole body bum wagging dance! Side to side... swish ... swish... I just love it...
What I don't love is ... really... is the knocking into the doors or whatever else at 5am or 6am when someone goes to the washroom ... he hears them and starts batting the tail... ugh... sleep is all I want... a good nights sleep .LOL
This is so funny! I just said to my son that Tori has different 'wags' for different situations....When one of us comes home - she more like jumps up and down on her hind legs following us through the hallway. Then she wags her whole butt. As she sees someone she KNOWS walking or driving up the driveway, she starts off slow then it kind of circles curled up straight... but I think I read somewhere that this is more of a fear wag... who knows - it's cute no matter why they wag! I bet there is a whole site dedicated to tail wagging and their meanings - off to check it out on google.
Gracie Doodle does the entire butt tail wag when we come home. If she is sleeping and we walk in the room then she just wags the tip of the tail. When she has her tennis balls she is soooo happy and her tail just does long sweeping wags. When she sees her friends (dogs) her tail goes in circles just like the face of a clock. I love that wag the best!!
Wrigley has the different wags too. Her normal "I'm a happy doodle wag" is a huge back and forth, and knocks things off of our coffee table. She has a "sleepy wag" where she can be sound asleep and one of us will walk past her, and she'll start thumping her tail. And then there is her "mischievous wag", which is her tail lowered and her whole behind shaking. It looks like she's doing the twist. She demonstrated this yesterday when I went out in the back yard to water my flowers. I noticed the wag right away, so I knew that she'd been up to something! She had dragged the hose out of the hose reel way across the yard and chewed up the new hose sprayer. You can't get mad at them b/c they are so funny!
Darwin has your typical frantic side to side sweeping tail wag. On rare occasions, we see the whole butt wag. When he's laying down, or sitting, and he's only moderately happy, the last 3 inches of his tail will wag, but none of the rest. It's hilarious!
When Gavin slips into the laundry room to steal some unmentionable, he parades out in front of us and his normal mid-tail sweeping wags turns into something we call "the flag". His feathered tail curls up over his back and waves back and forth as he prances with his "prize" - he looks like one of those Lipazanner Stallions lol!
