Favorite quirky doodle habit...

Hi everyone... I thought it would be fun to share our doodle's fun and quirky habits!

 

I start us off with one of Shelby's quirky habits.... after showering - Shelby has to help out and give me her own bath on my ankles and lower legs!   She just has to make sure I got everything!

Michele - you have got to post a pic of Riley sleeping under his dog bed, that sounds soooo cute :o)

Fido shares many of the same quirky behaviors you guys have mentioned: the licking after the shower, watching tv, always selecting a toy to greet the world with upon awakening, barking at things that are new in the house, walking around making the funny whining sound when he has something in his mouth and he's looking where he wants to settle down and chew on it -- yesterday it was Mark's shish kebob, but that's another story -- but my all-time favorite quirky thing he does is actually a variation on the toy-in-the-mouth quirkiness. Fido has a toy fox (Foxy Lady) and a toy skunk (Skunky) -- both of which he knows by name, by the way -- that are of the "unstuffed" variety. They're long and kind of slinky. Before he picks up one of these toys, he folds it neatly into a pile so the toy becomes a dainty morsel to run around with. In addition, he is so talented, he can even use the bathroom while holding his toy in his mouth!

Now about the game of Fetch. Fido prefers his variation which is called, I Steal the Ball from Other Dogs at the Park and They Have to Chase Me! aka "Stop! Thief!!" This game is made all the more fun when the various owners get involved and mayhem ensues. Needless to say, he is quite amused by his people's antics.

All my dogs have been post-shower leg lickers.....something about that warm water running down your leg they just love.....I don't think Malu has any quirky habits yet, but he does have a quirk. He does NOT like when any foreign objects touch his behind or rear legs area. Leaves, grass, etc will get stuck there and he runs around yelping and squatting and biting to get it off. He also doesn't like it when he gets a "stuck" poo back there. More yelping and tuck/run until it comes out. Poor Doodle!

Oh he does like to get ALL the toys out of the toy basket. Every last one. My other dogs will get a few out, but Malu likes to keep going back to get them all. Must figure out a way to train him to put them back in the basket.

OK, right after I posted that last thing, I realized Malu DOES have a quirky habit. When the grass is wet, he likes to lay on his side and "run" on the grass with his legs while still laying on his side until his head gets soaked. He gets a little wet in the dewy morning grass, but this was especially effective at lunchtime today in the pouring rain.

SIGH. Sopped doodle!! Sopped doodle mom!!

Sophie has several lovable quriks. She just loves to jump and (cat) walk along the top of couch. Also, her dad takes care of her in the morning and I was having trouble getting her into her crate. He finally shared me his trick .. He gives her a hug with a pep talk and gently pushes her off the couch and she goes straight in.. go figure. The latest one has been that she loves watching Dog101 on Animal Planet.

Malu has now started barking at all barking dogs on tv, seeing dogs on tv, and barking at himself in the mirror.
