Reminder for anyone interested in Rescue Remedy

There have been posts both in this forum and on other forums about Rescue Remedy.  It is used to reduce stress and anxiety for our animals.  Please be aware that there are many different formulations - you should be getting the one for pets.  Some of the other formulations contain alcohol or xylitol. Xylitol can kill dogs. 

 

Please read the ingediants before using.

It is a herbal mixture. This is the link to the website http://www.rescueremedy.com/pets/

We have never used it and are hesitant to use it as I have also read that it can upset the stomach and possibly have adverse interactions with other medication.

My pharmacy said both types were okay...but leave it to my friends on DK to know better. I will check my stash at home to make sure the last bottle I purchased was for dogs and from now on I will know better.

When I return to the store I will also inform them they are TWO DIFFERENT PRODUCTS

Thanks for posting this-I was JUST told by the owner of a local feed and grain store that the people-and pet versions were the same! I didn't take a gamble on this person's word-nor do I use the product-but-I imagine some folks might....so, I will be sure to head in to the store with some literature!

There are many formulations but I believe, if I'm reading correctly, that the formulation of Rescue Remedy that contains xylitol is the candy versions onlyhttp://www.bachflower.com/Rescue_Remedy.htm
It is my understanding that the sprays and drops do not contain xylitol. Obviously, if you do happen to personally use the candy version you'd want to keep them up from your dogs as you would with any other candy/gum/product that contains xylitol but the versions we'd use on our dogs appear to be safe.
