Just wanted to share really

 

Our 11 month labradoodle Dylan had been almost afraid of water forever. He would walk around puddles and go to great lengths to make sure he didn't get wet. He'd refuse to walk in the rain and when we have bathed him, would stand very still and look very unhappy til it was all over.

 

We've been having some great weather here in the UK (doesn't happen often) and we took him to the beach. He's been before but would run away from the edge of the sea to make sure he didn't get the least bit wet. I didn't think he'd ever go in but this weekend he charged straight in, up to his neck, splashing around like he'd done it all his life! I think the particularly hot weather and the 2 hour drive probably helped but at last, we have a water baby!!!!

We have a built in pool in our yard and I always wanted a water baby. Through 4 dogs, none is particularly happy in the pool and can't wait to get out. Then doodle #5 comes and I can't get him out of the pool! He jumps in, climbs up on the floats and will stay in for hours. Even when taking them out at 11:00 at night for last piddle, if I am not watching him, he will jump in. Then it takes a time to dry him. So, be careful what you wish for when wishing for a water baby. LOL

That is so sweet> way to go Dylan! Our 20 mth old goldendoodle loves the water at our cottage on Georgian Bay...so much that we cannot get him out of it and he cries at the door when he is inside our cottage cause he wants to go back to the beach. Last weekend he got out the back door and ran straight to the beach and jumped in the water. Oh well at least I know where to find him!! We have an inground pool in our yard at home and he will not go in even with my sons trying to coax him. Funny doggie!!

Wish I could get my Beau to do this! I have tried everything! I recently bought him a swim vest and I am anxious to try it out.
