i take a soaking wet wash cloth to morgan's face every day after eating but he still gets a "stinky face"...:) you would think that after he's submerged half his face in the water bowl that it would get clean but NO...short of giving him a bath every day (which is when he has a "nice face") does anyone have any ideas on how to get his face clean?  btw he doesn't like the wash cloth either...:)

I think I've seen some doggie versions of wet wipes at the store. Have you tried those? Hmmm... for that matter, you could probably use baby wipes on his face. I hope this helps.
I tried some doggy wipes when we first got Ned. Maybe it is his coat, but they did not do anything at all.
Murphy also has a very stinky beard. I think it's because he puts his face into the water bowl when he's drinking, and he gets really wet. He stays wet all day, and it smells pretty bad. When it reaches the point where I can't stand it, I wipe him either with a baby wipe or with a little shampoo on the wash cloth. Most of the time I just try to ignore it! When he wakes up in the morning (before his first drink) he's dry, and doesn't smell stinky....and that's when he gets most of his kisses. The rest of the day, it's pretty much hugs only. LOL
thank you both i'm going to try the wipes! because morgan REALLY likes to sit either on me or next to me, get his face VERY close to mine & stare at me...:) it's very smelly starting about 2 days after a bath. lol
I usually just put shampoo on a rag, rub it down, then rinse it. Basically "spot cleaning"
I'm going to try this if the baby wipes don't work, the only problem is he loves to be brushed (loves it sooo much in fact that he can't keep still for it...lol) but he doesn't like his face groomed so it's like corralling a cat...:)
Adina has suggested white vinegar and water mixture. I made some and can't remember the proportion to make more. I think it was 3 parts water to one part vinegar.
thank you for the suggestion but i don't think he'll like the smell of the vinegar, but if the shampoo doesn't work then this is next...:)
No one likes the smell of vinegar but when I have used it on the dogs they seem fine as I wash their beards - really. They do not smell of vinegar.
I like a product called "Minute Groom". It is a waterless shampoo that you can buy at Petsmart. I just spray a little on a washcloth and freshen up Cooper's beard, paws and anything else that needs it between baths. Not a heavy smell like some of the other waterless baths, just fresh.
