My boy, the Klutz!!!

Duke has a sweet, loving disposition but boy is he hazardous to my health!  Here are a few examples of recent displays of klutziness.

While we were on vacation recently, Duke injured me quite a few times.  I wanted to shoot  some video of him playing at the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado.  I was probably about 30 feet or so from him when I called his name.  I saw he was running toward me so I turned my back to him and kept walking.  BIG MISTAKE.  He hit me full speed and took my legs out from under me.  I landed on my behind..HARD...right on my tailbone on the hard packed sand.  It jarred me all the way up my spine and my teeth clacked together.  (I am now starting to feel better and it doesn't hurt as much as what it did.)  Luckily it didn't bother me much when I was walking.  Just sitting, standing, and squatting.  The next thing he did was a couple days later.  I was sitting on the ground watching the dogs play at the base of a waterfall.  Duke picked up a stick, started running toward me and scratched it along the side of my neck!  Later he came up to stand beside me, I was still sitting on the ground.  Something grabbed his attention and he jerked his head around and hit me right in the mouth giving me a fat (bleeding) lip.  The day after we arrived home from vacation, Duke and Sheba were playing in the back yard.  Next thing I knew they were running toward me and Duke almost plowed me over again!!  I was able to lift up one of my legs and jump to the side to get out of their way.  That sure didn't help the pain in my tailbone!  Today I was playing with Duke.  He raised his paw up and scratched me down my face. (He's done this many times)  ARGH!!!!  These are just a few examples of my boy's less than graceful moves.  I could write a book!  How about you, do you have a klutzy Dood?

In another discussion I asked for suggestions on a collar that would make Sheba look more girly.  I haven't chosen on for Sheba but I did see one that may fit Duke.  What do you think?

In all fairness to Duke my hubby and I do have our moments of klutziness.  On vacation, Hubby was crossing a river and holding onto our good camera.  He was almost made it across to the other side but slipped on a slippery rock and he and the camera went under.

Camera no longer works.  While sitting by a pretty lake (still on vacation) I sat on a fishhook.  Hubby got it out. By the way, this has nothing to do with klutziness but more a matter of some of the dumb things that happened on vacation.  A stone flew up and hit the windshield of our vehicle.  It's now in the shop getting a new windshield!

Got any funny stories to tell???

Does running full speed and tripping in a rabbit hole count as being a klutz? Ranger is a sweet girl, but could use a bit more grace.
Yeah, grace doesn't seem to come naturally does it? Although tripping in a rabbit hole could happen to anything and anyone. Just be glad she hasn't hurt herself.
Yes Rachel, I think it does count!
Well Peri swats me in the face - I think she is trying to be sweet, but it hurts! It's so cute though :) Peri has hit me with sticks while running past me also. The doods are too funny.

I am so sorry about your injuries. I know he didn't mean to hurt you, so I can't help but chuckle thinking about this. I am just imagining Duke just barrelling toward you.
I hate it when my guys run with sticks!! It's like kids running with scissors! I know what you mean when you said Peri swats you in the face. I know Duke is trying to be sweet sometimes when he swats me. Last year we were attending an outdoor doodle romp. I saw Duke take off full speed toward a lady that had her back to us, and she was bending over picking something up off the ground. I was horrified! I called him but of course he didn't listen.
The person I was standing by was calling him too. At the last second he swerved and missed the lady. WHEW!
Please tell Duke that I'm really sorry but now I have to say no. Who could survive all this? He may be handsome but.... My doodles get so rambunctious when they play fight outside that I have to find a stationary object, preferably a big tree, to stand next to in the hope it will prevent them from bowling me over. Luca also likes to set traps with toys, or the forbidden balls on the steps. I always have to be aware of hazards while walking in or outside. I do still love Duke though. I don't like the collar because it reminds me of a skull and crossbones, enough said.
Awwww, please reconsider! Well, I guess Luca is your main man. I'm sure Duke will understand. lol
Oh, a ball on the stairs!! Yikes. That sends shivers down my spine!!!! Gosh, BE CAREFUL!!! Your doodles and garden need you. : )
I don't really like to collar either, Ha ha!
You are all so lucky. Spud began as a Klutz. Throw him a ball and it knocked him on the floor. Oh you all are sooo lucky. He can now jump over and up more than five feet without effort. He SORES over furniture. Dances all day. Spins on command, catches fly balls. It never ends until about 11 pm.

Ann, not so lucky. I had my tailbone removed at the age of 17--I was the klutz. I broke it ice skating at 12 and at 14 I was hit by a car while walking to school. I could never sit ..... so they finally removed that pricky poking really sore piece my senior year in high school. Talk about embarressing. It would have been done sooner but no girl wants to show her booty at that age. At least, that WAS how it was when I was young.

I love Duke. He is just a charming Klutz.

The coller--Skull and Cross Bones. Like a Pirate Arrrgg. LOVE IT. Order a red and black one for me.

Headed to your page to see if pictures are posted yet. Oh no... maybe not. You did say the camera swims.
p.s. Duke
My husband calls me Grace. That's not because it is my name. Hugs to you ol' boy
I like the name Grace! : )
Spud is awesome! I am in awe of him! (Duke is too, he's jealous.)
Good grief, I didn't know a tailbone could be removed! Hit by a car?!?!
The skull and crossbones is a sign for danger, isn't it? Maybe I was wrong and it isn't?
I have posted a few pictures but still have more to post. Been REALLY busy. By the way, we're ready to head back to Bow Wow. What do you think?
Yeah, Spud is just about done with his two weeks of ear antibiotics ( does swimming cause ear infections?Duh--I don't know why he got one ) But I would rather treat them then keep the boy at home. Let's go!

P.S. Duke--Starlit is real Klutzy--but only when she moves
