My friend has a 5 mos old puppy who is pretty much housetrained but dribbles when she is excited. Any suggestions on how to eliminate this little problem. She is crated at night but is so excited that she dribbles before they can get her outside in the morning. Lately they have been taking her out crate and all.Less clean up that way, All suggetions would be appreciated.
Are they feeding in to the excitement? A very calm, not exciting greeting until she has done her business may work. Simply let her out and walk to the door. No petting or attention until she is out the door. We often get excited because they are excited and it just adds to the problem.
Gracie did that as a puppy. I tried always to greet with no emotion. Also, was careful not to lean over her. Eventually she grew out of it Probably around 10 months or a year.
