Celebrity Doodle

[Tina, Dylan & Lucy]

We live in a fairly small village outside the city of Lincoln in the UK and Dylan is our first dog.

 

But....I have been totally unprepared for the attention he gets! He is known to everyone (it seems) in our village and he's one of three labradoodles there. Now I know he is a handsome boy (biased of course :) but whenever we go out, we must get stopped several times a day from people commenting on how cute he is and the most popular question: 'excuse me, what breed is your dog?, followed by 'oh I thought so', or 'A labradoodle!!' when we reply.

 

When he was a little pup, we could barely walk around a park in 2 hours because of all the stops we had to make. It's like being on a walk with Madonna!

 

I'm guessing this is common with doodles? It's lovely of course but he's getting so spoilt with the attention. If someone passes without comment, I'm beginning to feel slighted!

 

I think doodles must be the celebrities of all dogs!

Yes, the doodles get used to it. And I think they are totally aware of how cute they are. Halas looks completely shocked if someone walks by him without stopping to pet him.

We get stopped all the time . . . doodles are just so cute!

We also get stopped all the ime when we take Oliver out and about. He adores all the attention, and is always ready to extend his paw to say hi and shake hello. And yes I sort of get offended if someone doesn't stop us to ask what kind of dog he is, and may we pet him? Oliver will go up to people if they ignore him, lol,,,But like I said that doesn't happen very often, he is usually the star of the day wherever he goes...And I truly believe he knows how cute he is, lol

Peri loves the attention and we are usually stopped about 90% of the time. It used to be more when she was more puppyish. People love her. And we stop people with doodles now - a little obsessed!

I knew it would be the same, I just keep trying to think if I ever stopped a dog before to say hi. Maybe I did. i do know that since having Dylan, I notice every dog around. Guess I'm just more in tune!

If nothing else, its great to help them get used to people. He basks in the attention and is happy to say hi to everyone.

Boy do I know where you're coming from! It happens ALL OF THE TIME! I told my husband that I got a taste of what famous people feel like, he agreed! There have been countless times when I/we have been stopped by people wanting to know what kind of dogs we have. I finally told my husband he needed to chime in and answer some questions that were asked of us. A few times I was kinda in a hurry and didn't really want to stand there and chat. Most of the time we don't mind answering questions though. Of course the dogs don't mind the attention at all!

My friend calls Lexi a "Chic Magnet".....we usually are the ones sitting outside the stores while our wives are inside shopping. All the ladies stop by to pet the Doodles and chat, he loves it!

My hubbie says the same. He always wanted to walk Dylan when he was tiny because of all the attention. I had to explain that when they say 'what a handsome boy' they are talking to the puppy, not the 43 year old man!!

Yep doodles do seem to steal the spotlight. Just today I had Harlow and Coco at the vet for their checkups. Everyone in the office including all the other dogs owners were just gushing over them. And the girls were completely enjoying all the attention and scratches.

Yes, we take Darwin around our outdoor mall and lots and lots of people stop to inquire. We love it, of course, and it really does help with socialization when so many people want to say hello!

Yep. Definately get used to it. We get the same thing time 2 when we're out with Gus and Lilly. Even more so since one's a F-1 and the other is a F-1B and explaining the difference.

I call Rosey my Supermodel. Where ever we go people are alway's gushing and asking to pet her. She seriously will look at people if they pass her and don't give her attention, such a little vain girl:) But poor Bandit, he only gets her seconds, Rosey's leftovers:(
