I am going to look into it.  Especially after reading this:

I watched an informational video about pet choking. They were saying how you should do the "wheel barrel" with standard dogs if they are choking, but for smaller dogs you should put your arm under their belly with their head towards the floor and pat their back. I would love to take a course for more info but couldn't find any in my area. Great idea to look into it!
I haven't heard of classes in pet CPR in my area, but I think it's a very good idea. If you're lucky, ambulances & paramedics can get to a human pretty quickly, but they don't have doggy paramedics. Thanks for the idea, I'm going to look into it, too.
I took a class a couple years ago. A girl scout in our area was doing a project and got Denise Fleck of SUNNY-DOG INK (http://www.sunnydogink.com/Home_Page.php ) to come and do the class. It covered basic first aid and CPR. Great class.
I gave respirations to a kitten on my kitchen counter who had drown in a pitcher of water I was using to water the houseplants. Gilgamesh lived! He came around strong enough to panic and scratch the heck out of me. I then drove him to the Fire Department to see if they had Trauma Scissors to cut the container off around his throat--instead the fireman wrenched it off and damaged his larynx.

I'll certainly check this out. Too many times you hear of dogs and tennis balls that lodge in the throat

This is a pretty good info. video. Doesn't substitute for a class!
