I think I'm gonna try this...thanks!!
Well I ordered this on the 13th and got them yesterday (got one for mom too!!). Ozzie actually has done it twice already!!! I don't think Mocha will...cause you know...she is her OWN doodle and does what SHE thinks...lol!! She however has a bladder made of steel so I'm sure she'll just have Ozzie do the bell work for her...so far so good - just wanted to share!!
Haha! Go Ozzie! What a smarty pants you are =) I wonder if they are manufactured close to you...that shipping was fast!

Sometimes Thule rings the bell for others...like if Cass is outside, she might ring the bell if she can tell Cass is waiting to come in. Or she'll ring if she's thirsty and we scramble to let her out and she just stands there and or backs up with NO intention of exiting. Eventually we figure out...'ooh the water bowls are empty!"
We used the bells with great success. He did play tug of war with them for a bit and that wore off. Now he uses the bell all the time. .......However he also uses them if he isn't getting enough attention from us. He rings them, we open the door he just sits there with his doggie grin and his tail wagging.
We still respond every time though. Just in case he's not crying "wolf" or should I say "doodle".
In other words, he's got us all bell trained. LOL
Okay, so I used the bells at first which was great. She was letting me know at times she needs to use the bathroom with the bells. Then she learned to attack the bells at all times, and take the bells down and run around. This was not fun for me and was rather loud. My trainer told me to take the bells away for a few weeks and then put them back, but I don't know if I am going to put them back because now she sits at the door and whines. Either way, the bells work as a start to potty training.
If they are young enough they can get distracted by the FUN of the bells. But she should be okay with them in time. It sure helps though when at random times during the day they need to go outside--if you can't/don't want a doggy door...bells are GREAT!
Thank you so much. I'm going to check this out on the Forum. New pup expected in November, and it's been a long time for both my husband and me. We're re-educating ourselves!

Yippee! Little Sierra (10 weeks) rang the poochie bells for the first time on her own today. She has done it three times so far, and promptly gone to the bathroom once outside. I am so proud! I have been touching the bells with her paw or nose since the very beginning (8 weeks), and of course she's seen Nimbus use them. This is a wonderful new step.

We all recognized a smart girl when we saw one!  ;)   Go Sierra, go!
