Anyone have experience with Bromide?

We have not been able to control Mariner's seizures as well as our vet would like so we are going to go to Bromide.  Is anyone using it to control seizures?

Hi- We wanted to give an update on Bella. She started on her "combo dose" of Pheno and Potassium Bromide on July 6th after a very nasty 5 minute grand mal seizure on July 4th and so far hasn't had another seizure. Like Mariner, Bella has had some hind quarter weakness but it has seemed to decrease some. She can now jump up on the sofa and go up and down stairs. She is scheduled for her bloodwork for Addison's Disease this Thursday so we're going to request the testing for Pheno and PB at the same time. As long as they have to "stick" her we'd like it done only once. Once we get those results we're planning on having a very serious talk with our vet to start decreasing her Pheno even if it means we up the Pot.Bromide. With her Addison's she has to take predizone daily and the combo of pred and pheno is just too much long term for her liver. Bella is only 3 and we're planning on her being with us for at least another 7-9 years. We'll keep everyone updated.
