Is she spayed? Is she a very dominant dog?
OMG is right. Peeing on your bed is the worst! I don't know what I would do....pour a bottle of Nature's Miracle over it maybe?
YES she is spayed, she was drinking a ton of water but I kept walking her and she wouldn't go. I don't think she is real dominant... OMG I am freaking out....
I don't blame you! And it just dawned on me (duh) that you have a sick puppy there, too. You're made of stronger stuff than I am, kid. I would have cancelled the dogsitting after all you and Bandit have been through the last few days. I think Ruby's mom owes you, big time!
Oh geez, I how do I even tell her?? "we had a great time, and BTW Ruby just happened to go potty on our bed, no biggie!!" I thought it would be good to have her over to distract Rosey. I have sprayed our urine spray on the spot and am letting it soak now... maybe I should dump some water on it and get out the shop vac...
Oh god... What a week, huh?

I found this:

I'm also reading a lot of recommendations to get a safe enzyme based cleaner like Nature's Miracle.
I could try this, I don' t know if I have all the ingriedients and I can't go to the store and leave these dogs here alone, plus I don't know if I can get the mattress outside by myself.
We had a weird anomaly when Darwin was about 6 months old. He was reliably housetrained by 4 months, and we hadn't had ANY problems with him going in the house in over 2 months.

Well, one night we decided to let him up on the bed. It was the first time we ever did. He jumped up and peed on the bed. We were SHOCKED. We poured baking soda on the bed to soak up the urine for a few hours, then cleaned it in vinegar and water. He hasn't had an accident in the house since then. And he IS allowed on the bed still. We are still confused about it!

Perhaps it was just a fluke?
I think that the peeing on the bed is a territorial thing. Many years ago, my roommate had a beautiful cat who had the run of the house, but not my room. The door was usually closed. One morning as I was taking a shower, the door was open and the cat went into my room and peed on the bed. I threw her outside and when she got back in she pooped on my pillow. I think she thought it was some kind of a game. A few days later, she got into my room and clawed my suede boots until they were all scratched up. My dogs have never had an accident on the bed, and wouldn't think of soiling our bed (I think!).
This makes sense. he had never been allowed on the bed previously, so perhaps it was a "new" thing to own. I guess it's confusing because Darwin NEVER marks, doesn't lift his leg, and is very submissive.
Peeing on the bed is definitely a territorial thing, and a major dominance thing, too. There is nothing in your house that has your scent so strongly as your bed. If your dogs sleep there, it has theirs, too. Peeing on the bed is basically claiming major status.
When I was in college, I was studying for an exam in my off-campus apartment when my boyfriend dropped by with his intact (and insane) adult Irish setter. After they'd been there not 10 minutes, I walked into my bedroom and this huge full-grown setter was standing on my bed peeing! That was almost 40 years ago, and I don't remember what I did...I was 19 and spoiled rotten, I probably threw it out and bought a new one...but I subsequently traded the boyfriend in for one with a less jealous dog.
Personally, I wouldn't tell my DH - some things are just better left unsaid ;-) Kind of like - what they don't know won't hurt them!! LOL The shop vac is a great idea though - I will have to remember that! GOOD LUCK!!!
NO KIDDING I'M NOT TELLING HIM! I have 5.5 hours to get this cleaned up. I just put baking soda on it. It's really old baking soda hopefully that won't matter. OMG please keep the suggestions coming... I will be running back and forth from bed to computer.
