I noticed a few days ago that my doodle's right eye appeared slightly red. It doesn't seem to bother or itch him, but it leaks a small amount of green liquid. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this before, will it remit on its own or should i seek a vet asap. My plan was to continue cleaning it and see if it clears before making an appt. Also, i was informed that maybe putting black tea on it will help. Anyone have any helpful info regarding this matter?

There's no doubt in my mind that the eye is infected. He needs to see a vet and get antibiotics, the sooner the better. Please keep us posted.
Yup. Does not sound like home remedies are a good idea.
take him to the vet and get him treated before he scratches his cornea - although it doesn't seem itchy, any infection or foreign object will feel like an irritation
Rouser had this twice when he was a puppy (our neighbor dog gave it to him).

It's easy to treat - some drops for a week in both eyes. Your vet should also take a look at your dog's cornea just to make sure that there isn't a scratch, but other than that - it's pretty simple to treat (sooner rather than later so it doesn't get worse).
Frankie girl had this the other week. Only in one eye though and it was stuck closed. I bathed it open as I thought she had got bitten or something. Silly me...days later..green ooze from both eyes. Yes definitely a vet's visit and antibiotic drops are in order. You really cannot self-treat this one. Also, my vet reckoned she caught this eye infection from her doggie daycare as it is highly contagious. Kind of like a doggie pink eye...Good luck.
So, since it was the weekend, we figured we would try the black tea and if it didn't remit by Monday, we would take him to the vet. Well, it seems the black tea has worked! After only one day, the infection is completely gone! Thanks everyone for your help :)
