I was looking at Remington's teeth last night and... YUCK!  We brush them often, but still it is getting a build up on them.  I want to stay away from greenies and dental sticks just because of the bad things I have heard about them.  Does anyone have good things they give their doodles to get those teeth pearly white again???

Soup bones, knuckle bones and marrow bones are exactly what i am talking about. I have been using them for over 30 years and no dog has broken a tooth.
Karen, Do your dogs consume the entire bone, or do you take it away before that happens?
The kind of bones I'm talking about are not consumable. They're simply for teeth cleaning. After awhile, they're like petrified wood, lol.
Thanks for this tip, the safer the better!
Canine Cattle Monster Bones! They clean their teeth better than anything I've ever seen!

Jack likes these, and really works those teeth scraping them. Old West is a good reliable American brand, too.

And he never breaks off shards? That's been the problem with some bones, cow hooves etc. I've given C and L. They swallowed the sharp pieces and vomited them up without consequence thankfully. But I could do without the vomit and worry about real damage if they go through the GI tract.
Nope, he's never broken them, and he does a pretty good job scraping off all that tendon & stuff. The top end where the knuckle is has come off on some of them, but it's a clean separation with no shards or splinters.
Jack doesn't like the antlers, but the bones stay around forever. That's why I cook them first. You can't leave them lying around with the raw marrow, and if you get one that's long enough, the dog can't get to the marrow, so it just stays up in there getting rancid. If you cook them til the marrow cooks through, you can give that to the dog separately in his dish, and it's super nutritious. Then I usually chill the bone itself so it doesn't leave grease all over the house. Jack will chew one for a brief time, and then it goes into his toy basket until he's in the mood for it again.
You can buy them already sterilized in the pet supply store...sometimes they come stuffed with different things, but that looks awful to me, so you can get the plain ones and stuff them yourself. Peanut butter, cheese, whatever. Or just plain.
I also do this and run them through the dishwasher regularly to clean them up. I stuff with goodies and freeze for the next time.
My dogs have access to their antlers whenever I'm home, which is much of the time. Calla does some gnawing most nights, Luca less often. I don't limit them. They just stop after a while.
Charlie's vet talked about her teeth as well, which put me into a mode of teeth cleaning!! Now I brush her teeth a couple of time per week, but I don't see that build up coming off. While looking for a products online, I saw dental spray which is made of grape seed oil and stuff like that. I am wondering if anyone had try that product or not?
