Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

This is one of 3 puppies in the Lancaster, CA shelter that need to be rescued before Thursday. The shelter told me that a 'breeder' brought in the 8 week old puppies because they didn't have the money to vet them? They will be chipped and 1st set of shots before adoption.

I have tried several rescues to pull them and so far the only response I got was one that said they are out of town until the end of the week and they can't save them? WTD??? Forget them!

I can't be in CA saving doodles and live in NJ!  Is there anyone looking to add a puppy to their family or know someone that wants to adopt a doodle puppy?

The DRC is in need of foster homes in Southern CA - without them, doodles like these will continue to be euthanized for no reason other than lack of space in the shelters.

please email me if you or someone you know is interested.

Adrienne - why haven't you called me? I can pick them up. I have put the word out to everyone I can think of around here. I may foster (keep?) one. Can doodle train them somewhere this weekend, I'm in southern CA so if there are fosters in surrounding states, speak up and lets talk about transport.
I'm not real close -- southern Oregon -- but can foster, if needed. After reading Lynda's post though, are there Doodles at that shelter?
I just read her post too, so I am assuming they are probably gone. I can't find them on the Lancaster website either.
I'm in SoCal and I'll be happy to help you out with one puppy. Please contact me @ fbgarsh@gmail.com
Francesca - I think the consensus is that the pups are probably already gone. But I'll keep you posted tomorrow.
Adrienne,
I sent you an email also. We are in Las Vegas, only about 3 hours away and I know we have at least 1 member looking for a rescue doodle. Can you post this information on the Las Vegas page if I don't get it right? My husband and I could drive down and get them if necessary, if I can find at least one home. Keep in touch please.
Denise,
Tell them member that you know looking for a doodle to adopt to email me. I find them in the LV area and can send her the doodles I find that may be with another rescue - not just us or IDOG but we don't hold that against the doodle (LOL!!)

Hi Adrienne,
I am so glad that it looks like the pups were adopted. I am praying. Our member here did get a Doodle on Sunday at the local shelter. He is a Goldendoodle and is doing well with them...just recuperating from his neutering. She said she will post photos as soon as the "cone of shame'' is removed!! Pat, in our group here, also keeps an eye on the local shelter for Poodles and Doodles..there just are way too many to rescue them all. I'm with you....a large ranch in Northern California would suit me just fine...then I could just rescue lots and lots!! Keep up the good work.
Lynda,
You gave them their ID # A4188526 and they said they couldn't find him???
They only go by numbers which their computers tell which kennel they are in.
I will be calling the shelter this morning.
I promise to post here to keep everyoneupdated as soon as I get the info.
Bless you all for offering to open your home and hearts to a doodle in need.
Yes, that was the number we had and he was supposedly in cage #234. There were 12 (my husband counted) puppies in that cage and the card for this puppy was still there - however, no puppies matched the photo and there were no puppies with any doodle characteristics in the cage. After taking puppy #A4188526 out to the play area for a while and seeing his blue tongue, I went through the entire dog area looking for any pup (or dog) that looked like he could be a doodle and there were none. It is a large facility with horses behind the cat and dog area and behind that the juvenile detention (human that is) facility. They are definitely a very busy area and someone should be assigned for doodle rescue, but we are too far away. It is a 12-hr. drive round trip. Hope you can get more info from the shelter this morning. But, I guarantee you, there are no doodles in that facility at this time.
Once again doodle owners step up to help wherever needed - there's just something about doodles that attract awesome people as owners!. I do so hope these little guys are safe and if I was anywhere near CA I would be right there pulling them all from the shelter. Paws are crossed.
Kim,
I think you and I need to take a road trip and go and get all the doodles in So CA! We can drop them off to fosters all over the country. You packed yet????
