Bandit Has a Bad Owee! - UPDATE

So I caught Bandit all of the sudden chewin on his leg and upon futher inspection it was a scab, a big scab he was chewin off.  I got he flea comb out and combed out the rest and underneath is a pretty deep (hard to tell how deep) puncture.  I called the vet and they said I could bring him in but maybe try to clean it and then put a pressure bandage on it.  It is about 1/4" wide and again I can't see how deep but is was oozing some blood.  Any thoughts on a cause or suggestions for treatment?  How concerned should I be?  I tried taking a pic but  it was hard to get an accurate pic.

I'm glad to hear it isn't too serious and Bandit will be good as new soon. In the meantime - lots of snuggles and treats to keep his strength up.

Bandy Baby, you are looking BUFF in that T-shirt!! Best you just lay around and be a vegetable for a few days. Your mommy and nurse Gracie are doin' a great job of taken care of ya!! :) Once you're all better we can frolick again!! ;)

Bandit, so glad to hear that you are going to be ok, and wow I love that tee-shirt....I had to wear one when I had an owie once, but it wasn't nice like yours, it was one of my Dads old white ones...Maybe my Mom will get me some cool tee-shirts to have in the house Just in case I ever need one again...Anyway, you feel better my friend...Oops here comes Mom and she is not happy that I am on the puter, gotta run...Oliver

I am so glad to hear that Bandit's wound was not too terribly deep. We do worry about our beloved doodles, don't we. Relieved to hear he will be fine.
