Unscented Grooming Products? Tangle Free-Conditioner-Grooming Ease Products

Before I purchase another product that will just rot on the shelf I wanted to get some opinions.  I wish we could SMELL on the internet--of course, not in the Poop Group, but it would be great if we could here  :)

Like most of you I have invested a lot of money in grooming products and my grooming bag is an army full of things to tackle the Doodle Coat but I need a product to use on  Spud's coat; a  very dense, curly, wooly on the back, thick and silky on the legs.   He MATS and I believe he always will.

Being picky with scents myself, I respect his feelings.  He will growl and run if I use Mane-n-Tail.   Cowboy Magic was a little better but not much.  He likes my Vanilla Hand Cream (?) and I used a Loreal Coconut Conditioner Last Week and got no growling complaints but the amount I would use for his coat would end up costing $20.00 twice a week. NOT

Anyone else use an unscented grooming cream, lotion, spray during grooming?

I really do like the Pantene scent. It is not overpowering at all. That is a good thought. The breeder had told me that Doodles can have sensitive skin and she recommended Aveeno. I bathe Melody with the Aveeno body wash and she has never had an adverse reaction. I don't detect a fragrance with that, really. Then I use the Chris Christensen conditioners. They are a little spendy, but you can dilute them significantly. They are very nice.
AVEENO. Great product, no scent, and good on sensitive skin
If we had a nickel for every dog product we have tried, unsuccessfully, (food as well)...HA! Retirement would come earlier! I tell DH that this is college tuition!
I just started with a new Vet for the new puppy and we discussed shampoos. She said I should only be using soapless dog shampoos as the pH is too acidic in any shampoos with soap, dog or human, for the Frontline to be 100% effective. Something about destroying the lipids in the skin that the Frontline (or any topical flea prevention meds) needs to adhere to for proper penetration. Just passing along, It may be total rubbish, but she doesn't sell shampoo in her office, so it wasn't that. This would probably take some research or even a call to Frontline to verify, and since I use mostly soapless anyway it was a non issue.
Interesting
Sue - Just when I was about to go out and by Pantene and now this.....too many choices. We use whatever dog shampoo that's on sale and dilute it otherwise it's too thick and takes too long to rinse out but we do spend a little more on the conditioner...Vets + Best Natural Formula -Moisture Mist Conditioner (Sage, Aloe and Cucumber scent) love this product. It smells clean and fresh and really does seem to work the best...it is a leave in you don't have to rinse out. We also use it when we are doing our every other day comb outs right onto her dry coat. Mind you though we only bathe Daisy at home every other month as she is groomed every 2.
Don't know about the soapless shampoos but I have heard that you should wait 24 hours or more after bathing your Doodle before applying Frontline. I really think a lot of the itchiing or irritation comes from the strength of the shampoo. That is why I dilute my shampoo way down to a runny liquid but I test it to make sure I can suds it up a bit so I know it is doing its cleaning.
He is a sweet boy, isn't he?
Sad, I am not seeing UNSCENTED here although the Baby Shampoo with the lower ph levels and the dilution of the products, has helped.

A dog has a sense of smell, of what, 1,000 times better than ours!? I respect my Doods sense of smell and his aversion to grooming products.
Did you Google Scent-Free Dog Shampoo?

Thats funny, can't believe that he hates the scents.I just bought the Les Pooch shampoo and conditioner for males. The scent was soooo good!I could'nt stop hugging and kissing JAKE.A great scent for a male dog
He GROWLS. He would rather sit for an ear cleaning during an Ear Ache than have me approach him with grooming products. So I don't. He does however like a product with petroleum and Bees Wax. It is unscented for the most part. I used it on a mat the other day and I heard no complaints. A little to greasy for me though.
