Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I'm contemplating getting a goldendoodle puppy and have been researching this site extensively. What has struck me is the adorable unique names and the more popular names for doodles. I notice a lot of Coopers which is perfect for a little boy. I also see a lot of Belle's and Bella's for little girls.

Share your doodle's name and how you came up with them! I just might find one for my future doodle.

Wellington was so named because I had been travelling for a year - and fell in love with Wellington, New Zealand. So it was on my list - and my Dad also suggested it as England was playing a match there at the time I brought the puppy home.

I thought it was unusual - I had never come across a Wellington, but since having him I have heard of two more Wellingtons. Also on my list were Rupert and Paddington (but I didn't like Paddy).

Mr Bingley (Bingley) is named after the Jane Austen character in Pride and Prejudice - a nice fellow who is slightly awkward and goofy - just like our Bing Bing (as he is affectionately known).

I needed a name that was regal enough to live with Wellington.... though Darwin was a close contender I had never come across another Bingley.
When I drove to Texas to pick up Gracie I had a long list of names to consider. None seemed to fit, so she remained un-named until I saw a billboard for Elvis' home Graceland on the highway. We live in Memphis and Gracie just fit her....Funny later, I discovered that Grace had some references to overcoming a challenge, definately the story of her puppyhood!
People always ask as why Krimmi? Well, we were able to pick him up from the breeder around Christmas time and our then 7 year old daughter wanted to name him. Although hubby and I were trying to convince her on the name Sprocket, she insisted on Krimmi, BECAUSE when she was little she could not pronounce Christmas tree and would always say Krimmi tree, so.... she chose Krimmi and now I couldn't imagine him being anything else :)
That is very sweet, Corinna.
C-O-R-I-N-N-A!!! Hi! "sister"....How is Tori's little brother? So nice to hear your story! I loved it! Perfect! Hope all is well and "Brother Krimmi" is behaving himself just like a little "Christmas ANGEL"!
We named our goldendoodle "Bosun" because we are avid sailors and wanted something unique and nautical, as he was going to be a part of our crew. He definitely lives up to his name, making sure everyone stays on task while he snores away in the cockpit as we sail or chases 'duckies' off the dock at the marina. :) We couldn't imagine a better name for him (nor a better puppy)!
We finally decided on Beauregard "Bo" after posting the puppies picture at work and everyone had a chance to suggest a name. It was fun. We had Dexter, Boomer, Pawsley, Brigsley, Barkley and others, but "Bo" won out.
My Doodle is named Melody, and actually the breeder had given her that as a temporary name. I love music and love to sing to her. The name Melody sounds upbeat, light and pretty to me. She is all of that. With my love of music and of her, it seems to fit! We are getting a new male Goldendoodle next month. (Same parents as Melody.) We are naming him Morgan, after Morgan Freeman, one of my favorite actors. I love the name Shelby, after the Shelby Mustang! Great name!
Jordan is named for the greatest basketball player of all time! Which is perfect because she is the greatest Doodle of all time!
I really wanted a name that reflected his Irish heritage but my husband and I could not agree.  We had not yet picked him up but we wanted a name ready to go. One day I was making cookies for a bake sale and I was flipping through my cookbook and saw Snickerdoodle cookies. There reddish cinnamon tops reminded menof
the puppys fur I had seen a few days before. I then suggested it to my DH and he loved it. We shortened it to Snickers because it was easier to call but when he is being especially naughty or cute he becomes Snickerdoodle.
I picked Indy, short for Indiana Jones, because I wanted a pop culture reference name. I love the Indiana Jones movies (and Harrison Ford) and I really like the way Indy sounds. When I met him, I knew it was the right name. He's kind of a swashbuckler at heart. I
These are great! Devin, Indy is a swashbuckler at heart?????????????????????? ROFL!!!!
