Do you closely monitor you dood(s) going out?? I walk out every time cheering them on "GO POTTY!" "GO POTTY!" "GO POTTY!" until the actual "events" occur. And I usually have phenomenal success 2 for 2 or 4 for 4 in my case. But gosh all mighty when Bandy rings the bell or Rosey goes out and DH takes them and he brings them in, I will say "sooo what did they dooo" and he say's "i dunno" they did something! WTD aren't you watching?? Why do you go out there then?? to protect them from Lions, Tigers and Bears? And he says "YES! and dinosaurs, goblins, and ghosts!!" God save the DH!!

I don't have a fenced in backyard, so "elimination" is always tracked. Callie does like to poop down in a ravine (she doesn't like to be alone, but also wants privacy), but I make sure she goes up on the regular surface at least a couple of times a week to make sure that all is as it should be. We are also a strict "pick up after your pet" community (unless your dog poops in the ravine!) so there can really be an inspection. I just about died laughing when I picked up Harvey Foster Doodle's poop and found the entire face of a plush toy!
I had poop give me the finger once when Quincy ate a latex glove but I've never had it give me the evil eye or should I say "stink" eye. Sorry couldn't resist this one. :>)
I'm so mad that I never thought of that joke!!!!!!!!!!
Was it smiling at you???? lol
Not only do we report "if" but we also report "what" , "how", "where" and "when" ha ha....sometimes I think we are over the top about our doodle (yes I said sometimes). Our daughter thinks we are a bit much (she is an only and 28) and I try hard not to speak of Daisy too much when we are on the phone together but she usually ends up in the conversation.
I have a 32 year old daughter who has a 1 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback. Before, I was always talking about Gracie Doodle and knew I was getting annoying. My son and DIL think I am a bit obsessed with Gracie...hummm...wonder why. I talk more about Gracie than they do about my three grandsons! Anyway, now that my daughter has a dog that is all we talk about. I can hear the smiles in her voice when she talks about Luna. And poop...yes it is a big thing. We are big on checking the consistency and form!!! ha ha Get your daughter a dog and your conversations will go to new heights!!!!
The funny thing is she has 2 dogs and prior to Daisy we talked about her 2 dogs (my granddogs) ALL of the time she just doesn't remember that I guess.
Yes, we don't have a yard so we always have to take him out on a leash. I think it's kind of good, because we always know if he's gone, and if he's having good poops or not. :-)
DHs are kind of oblivious sometimes. They mean well but.... Have you seen the children when they have been left in charge of dressing them? Hmmmmm
Oh have I!!! Clancy (the human) was about 3 months old and I left him with John for the first time and when I came home he had one of those snap up the outfits with the feet on backwards. He wondered why the feet were going the wrong way...duh Then another time years later the kids were dressed in plaids and stripes!

Oh DH's I know you all try but mom's are mom's!! And people wonder why I am afraid to leave them when I will finally have to go out of town without them:( I need an experienced doodle parent to deal with such issues!! Application's are being accepted for experience stool monitor's!!
I just saw this discussion and it struck me as super funny because I thought we were the only ones that did this. Actually just as I was reading this DH was getting ready to take one of ours out (we live on the 4th floor of a condo so we have to take them down on the leash) and he asked me how many times Dustin had gone number 2 today so he'd know if he needed to really take his time or if we could just do a quick tinkle!! Ours go potty on command if they need to but number 2 is a bit trickier. We definitely monitor it and since we have to pick it up immediately we check them to make sure "all is good." Kind of glad to know we're not the only two to care this much about the potty breaks and what happens when they go!
