I noticed a small 'bump' on the roof of Camus' mouth last week and have been keeping an eye on it.  It's growing.  Here are two pictures of the growth, however it is a bit difficult to get him be still so they are not great.  The black spot on his gum is new too.  Has anyone had any experience with this type of growth?

Oh no! I am so sorry. Could it be something like humans get when we eat the wrong thing and get a sore in our mouths and it takes a while to heal? Or perhaps he got a sliver of a bone or ??? and it has formed a cyst around it. I will be following this post to see what it is.
My first thought was that he hurt his mouth on a bone or one of his toys, but then I noticed it was getting larger. And being a bit of a paranoid, I started to wonder if this is related to the growth coming out of his pad, which has also been growing!
This could be good news.
I'd ask the vet about it, to be on the safe side, and the spot on the gum, too. I hope they are both nothing to worry about. :)
Thank you everyone. I did an initial google of 'lump in a dog's mouth' and ended up scaring myself, bit I just googled incisive papilla and it is a possibility. If it is a incisive papilla it would be good news. But, I'm going to follow Karen's advice and have the vet check just to be sure.
Will do...
I agree with the have the vet check it majority. I'm not one to run to the vet but a growth of unknown origin that's growing deserves a look just to be sure.
I'm sure this has you very concerned, but here's hoping it's nothing. Yes, please do let us know what the Vet says. Our Doodles....always giving us something to worry about! Paws crossed....
If its any comfort, both Gaston-Cramer and Rosie have the same bump. I never even thought to look until this post and sure enough they both have them. :)
Buddy has a similar one too!
Just to be sure, I would make a bee line to the vet tomorrow just foir your peace of mind...Please let us know what what he says, and did he see the growth on the paw?...I would have it checked, maybe it is a tooth abscess, My aussie had that, and it was close to the tooth, yet on the roof of the mouth...
Peri had it - it was a virus. We took her in because our vet said "anytime you find a new growth, bring her in asap". Many times it is nothing, but better safe than sorry. I bet it's just the papaloma virus like Peri had.
