When my kids were little I was one of THOSE Mom's who picked up the phone to call the Dr for every little thing.....sigh.....what can I say...they were my babies!!!
Banjo is just not himself today. In a very subtle way though. He isn't his usual playful, nutty self. He's kind of quiet, laid back and low energy....with a runny nose...and outside in the cold air he keeps making funny "huff's" through his nose sounds. Like he's snorting out air. That's it. He seems to be eating and drinking normally and eliminating just fine. I can't tell if he has a temp or not......how do you know???
Soooooo.....instead of rushing to the vet's, I called just see if the office will be open tomorrow (Banjo's Birthday!!!!! WOO HOO!!!). They will be in the office til 3....so I guess we'll see how the little guy is feeling tomorrow. I do worry!!! Isn't it always right before a weekend or holiday that they get sick??? Fingers are crossed that we won't have to make a visit to the vet's office!

Banjo is the same today.....no worse...no better. It's a game of wait and see at this point. Very weird to see him so "mellow"......Mr. Bundle of Energy has "left the building". I'm off the Massachusetts to family Christmas Eve and DH has decided to stay home with Banjo so we aren't both worrying about him. Tomorrow if he isn't better we may take him with us to my daughter's. Today is his birthday and he just isn't up to celebrating : (
Sending good Christmas wishes to all of our friends here on DK!!!!
Poor Banjo! JD and I wish he was having a better birthday! We hope he perks up soon. And your DH is definitely a keeper!
Oh Banjo Boy this is no way to spend your special day!!! I'm so sorry to hear you are not feeling better today :( I'm really glad that your Doodle Daddy is staying home with you today though maybe a day of Birthday snuggling will help!! Tara is sending you lots of doodle licks and luvs!!
Carol, I hope you see some improvement in Banjo by the end of the day. I know how hard it is to feel "joyful' about the holidays when you have a little one who is not feeling well. Please continue to keep us posted!
Just a quick DK check-in. How is Banjo today? Better we all hope.
Lucie had a day like that on her birthday too! I felt really bad so on the way home from the vet I stopped and bought her a few new toys.
Wouldn't you know that after she started playing with her new toys she seems almost entirely better? The vet hadn't found anything wrong and maybe the distraction of the toys was all it took!
This may sound ridiculous, but now if Lucie doesn't seem quite right (but no major symptoms) I try a new toy before we go to the vet :)
Oh no, Carol~ I've been off for a while with the craziness of Christmas... what's wrong with our boy Banjo??? The more I read your posts, the more I see how much we're alike - lol... didn;t think there were many of us 'worry-warts' out there... my kids too always seemed to get sick on off times... weekends, before holidays when the drs. were closed, and I to ran or called the doctor ASAP... and now these poor puppies! How is he today???
Happy birthday Banjo our dear friend!!!!
