Hello fellow Doodlers & Shutterbugs...

 

I'm a photographer from New Jersey... the Jersey Shore.

 

I just started a new little canine photography business.

 

"Pedigree Phodography"

 

I've just created a facebook page today... would love if you all checked it out and "Liked" me.

Congrats on your new venture!  I checked out your FB page looks great!  All the best to you!  I will "like" your page.  I understand how word of mouth works.  My husband is a singer and doe sit full-time and most of his business comes from referrals.  He also has a facebook page (that I created and run) Peter Oprisko feel free to check his out and "like" that is you like. lol (he also has a website that has a lot more stuff).  He will actually be doing a concert in Cape May Courthouse, NJ on Sat, Jun 25 at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center.  Not sure how far that is from you but you might enjoy the music.  :)  I am his "offical" photographer and I have often thought of maybe doing it for a side business, but for now I stick to helping him out!  Best of luck to you!

Thanks Linda!  I had to do something with my dog photography on its own page...  I'm sure my facebook friends are sick of my daily Doodle photo posts! I'm in love with my Mulligan!!!!

Best of lock on your new enterprise.  How did you establish your prices?  Do you have local competition? Also, do you have a print portfolio?  I think that a lot of folks want to see what the pictures of their dogs will look like in hard copy.  Great name for your business....

 

I am not a follower of Facebook at all.  Is the Facebook imagery as good as some pay sites like www.smugmug.com?  Can you post large files; or are you posting reduced size images?

I established prices based on what I've been charging for baby photography and event photography. I don't know about competition... I just came up with the idea over the past couple of days. I don't have a hard copy portfolio yet but that's easy enough to put together. The name just came to me... thanks.

Facebook photos are resized but decent quality.
I'll have to set up a proper website... but facebook is a great place to get things rolling. It's where I've gotten most of my Savvy Shooter business.

Looking now to create a logo for business cards and advertising...

Also going to check out if there's competition in the area and if so what their prices are.
