7 months and still no facial beard or no long shaggy coat!

Just wondering if anyone else has had a doodle with absolutely no sign of a facial beard by the age of 7 months or anyone who has a doodle that didn't develop one until later. Is my carlos just a late bloomer?

 

And also does anyone have an pictures of a doodle with a coat similar to his? He just turned 7 months and is still sporting a slightly wavy short coat. I would love to know if it is going to grow out more or stay fairly short and straight. I'm not sure if he is every going to get long and shaggy!

He is an F1B that is 3/4 retriever and 1/4 poodle.

Anyone with any idea of what his coat will be like as an adult please let me know! I am just so curious!

The one thing that is certain is he has the GREAT BIG DOODLE NOSE that I just want to kiss (me and my noses). He probably won't ever have the shag or beard but he's got what it takes in my book.

IMO you have a Doodle that is 3/4 Golden Retriever and that is pretty much how he is going to look.  Having a little Poodle in him is what is making the wavier hair/fur.  I see very little Poodle in his face and head.  I doubt there will be a beard or snout fur.  It would have happened by now.  Very sweet looking boy!

I think he is lippier like a poodle and has a bigger-than-GR nose and ears.  I love to play with my doodle's ears and grab his lips.

Awww he is a stunner. I took a look at his puppy pictures and he looks just like a Goldie puppy. I would say that he will always look like a Goldie - no beard ect.

 

I have a friends with the same mix as you (3/4 Goldie, 1/4 Poodle) and all the pups were much fluffier than Goldie's right from the start. Thats the joy of a doodle - they are all so different.
