Best ALS food for 2 yr old and 6 month old

There are just so many choices of foods and I have fed Murphy the older doodle mostly Wellness Core or Orijen with about 50% home cooked foods. Now that we have Bella, 6 months old who came from the breeder on Fromm, I wanted to get them both on the same food for convenience and storage issues. Having 2 30-40# bags of different foods around is too cumbersome.

So they are both on Canidae ALS now and doing fine however, it has never been one of my first choices before and I am questioning if it is the best choice. Am I doomed to buying 2 different bags for different ages for another 6 months? And what is the soonest I can change the puppy to adult food?

Fromm has two grain-free formulas.

Yep, but Canidae isn't Sue's first choice, she prefers to feed Murphy Wellness Core or Orijen. And neither or those have an ALS formula, the puppy would have to have the puppy version...maybe.

If it has puppy feeding guidelines on the bag, it should be ALS.

Interesting, Are there puppy feeding guidelines on Orijen or Fromm adult formulas? I never looked for it because when I was feeding Orijen it was for an adult dog and when I had the Fromm it was puppy formula.

Fromm's website says the Four Star line is an ALS line that would be appropropriate for puppies.

Orijen only recommends their puppy foods for puppies. Puppies need more calories than adult dogs in relation to their weight.

Oh Thanks Karen, I didn't even think to go to the website. I will order that from my Pet Club next month. I really liked the food and would like to go back to it ASAP. But like I said, only if I can use one food for both.  I liked Orijen very much as well, but it really is pricey, especially with two. If I had to use it I would, but since Fromm is so good and available, I will use it.

Fromm is a great food and affordable. The Four Star line is what we give our doods. We alternate between pork and duck, and sometimes whitefish.

I fed Peri the 4-star line starting at 3 months and still have her on it!

Sue, in the Four-Star line, the two grain-free formulas are called Surf & Turf, and Beef Frittata. Sound appetizing, don't they?
