Hello all! Just checking to see if anyone has any advice on what to do with doodle eyelashes? Bernie's are a very obvious orange color, which we adore, but they're getting so long! He'd be the envy of the red carpet! They don't seem to bother him, but when we trim his face we don't think we want to leave these long, sweeping eyelashes sticking out from his head. He is a boy after all!

In the end we know it won't hurt him to trim them, but I'm really curious if anyone else has a doodle with such pretty, I mean handsome, eyelashes?

I trim my Doodle's Lushes lashes sometimes.  Only when they get so long that when she blinks they pick up the hair on her lower face and pulls it in front of her eyes.  If I notice this, I trim them carefully.
I've wondered about this also
This is a great pic! What a sweetie pie!
Cute photo! Hunter HATES it when I try to put bow's in her hair :-(
Bonny has long curling black eyelashes.  I let them grow once until they were about an inch and a half long -- they looked so silly I had to cut them.  They curl up beautifully, but they do need to be trimmed, especially after she's been groomed.
I only wish I could have eyelashes like these. Sadie's are red and long. When the groomer clipped them off I was not thrilled.
i know this is probably a stuped question, but did they grow back?
Absolutely! :)  We trim our two all the time.  Gaston-Cramer's are so curly they curl into themselves and Rosie's go on forever!  Both come back, time and time again :)

Nice!  Long lashes can look good on guys too!

Eye lashes can help keep doodle hair out of their eyes. For this reason I leave them until they interfere, and then I trim them.

I keep the eye lashes long on my  schnauzer. They are supposed to be trimmed to match the eyebrows, but she is a girl so I figure she needs a less military look. lol

Gracie's are like that.  Sometimes well over an inch long.  I always ask the groomer not to trim them but more often than not, she does.
Ned has beautiful red eyelashes and we do have the groomer trim them. I would love them long, but I think they would get in his way.

Hi Amy,

Well, I'm so glad you asked this question.  You beat me to it by a couple of hours.  I had heard before I got my puppy that you weren't supposed to cut the eyelashes, because they kept the hair out of their eyes.  Misty is 9 months old now, and I've cut her hair once.  I didn't cut her lashes.  Look at them now!  Her eyelashes are soooo long!  I've been wondering what to do about them too.

Thanks for starting this discussion.
